I feel a bit stupid right now...

... because I just realized that the Avril Lavigne song Don't Tell Me goes "Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry?" For four years I was convinced that it was 'tell' instead, even though I read the lyrics numerous times. I just thought it was a typo or something like that... But a little while ago I realized my mistake.
But that's not my worst Avril-related mishearing. Once I heard her sing "Together holding pants will fall". Of course, the correct lyrics go "holding hands we'll fall." >.<

Oh my god, I always get the lyrics wrong. xD I have positively no skill when it comes to hearing things by ear. For example, I thought that in the song "Trippin' the Life Fantastic" by Weatherbox the lyrics went "Let's talk about your ill affairs; like that you might actually be all alone." it's actually "Let's talk about your real fears; like that you might actually be all alone." I totally got ripped on it at a lyrics site, too. xD

But you should see some of the suggested lyrics for the song "Water's Edge" by 1997. They're so laughable. For example, the real lyrics are "Who's empty chair is at the table? Who changed the locks, who took off pictures on the walls?" One site has them listed as "I'm fine left alone, change the lies you took off pictures on the walls." One of the more hilarious examples is this one: The real lyrics go "I'm sending letters through the mail; who's empty chair is at the table? who changed the locks, who took off pictures on the walls? string me along like a beautiful love song..." A site has them listed as "I'm sending letters through the mail, accepting cherries at the table. Change the locks, you took off pictures of the walls. String me along like a beautiful love song..."

I read somewhere that somebody had misheard The Beatles song 'Yesterday' and thought it was 'Yes, today'.
And some Finnish song was misinterpreted from (rough translation) "I will protect you from everything," in to "I will protect you from art." (the Finnish words for everything and art are kaikelta and taiteelta, so they kinda rhyme.) That's probably one of those things that is funnier in the original language though. X_X

I can't. Even though I like her less now, I can't help but admire her music, since I've idolized her since I was twelve... And everyone has their own music taste, I find it childish to diss other peoples because they like some artist/band.
