last night my school had a spring dance, so this one girl comes up to me and asks me if i want to dance, i say alrght. so we dance. we then she asks me out, i sa yes. i come to find out about 5 mn later that she had a boyfriend and that she had broke up with him right after we danced. she says it's not my fault but i can't help but feel sorry for the guy, and just feel like the biggest @$$ in my school know, anbody help me for getting over this.

It's not your fault at all, and you can't possibly be an ass for something you didn't know about. If her ex confronts you, just tell him that you didn't know.
It not your fault, but you may want to be careful with this girl. If she did something like that once, then she may do it again. There are some girls who just like to play with a guys feelings by jumping from guy to guy. I'm not saying she is one, I don't know all the details here, but I'm just saying be prepared if she is like that. But anyway, Congratz on the girlfriend! :D
