[ I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the internet dream. I had a dream that one day this forum will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "KH-Vids says no to Double Posting of Threads and Posts , KH-Vids says no to spam , KH-Vids says no to Flaming and Harassment, KH-Vids says Watch Your Content, and KH-Vids says Let the staff do their job." I have a dream that one day in the open plains of Indtroduce Yourself the sons of former noobs and the sons of former members, premiums, and staff will be able to sit down together at the thread of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even Discussion, a section sweltering with the heat of drama, sweltering with the heat of flaming, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and peace. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a forum where they will not be judged by the color of their name but by the content of their posts. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day, down in the Spam Zone, with its vicious posters, with its moderator having his lips dripping with the drool of sleeping rather than studying for AP exams; one day right there in the Spam Zone, little noob boys and noob girls will be able to join hands with little premium boys and premium girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day every section shall be exalted, every thread and post shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the forum shall be revealed, and all members shall see it together. ] And then I woke up.
The fact that you are a super moderator removes the whole underdog element from this speech. It doesn't need an underdog to be made but if it is made by one then the effectiveness is tenfold.
Four score and seven years ago our administrators brought forth on this content, a new website, conceived in Videos, and dedicated to the proposition that all Kingdom Hearts games are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that website, or any website so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that forum, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that website might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this topic. The brave users, living and inactive, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored inactive we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these inactive shall not have left the website in vain -- that this website, under spdude, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the internet.
Good evening, KHV. Allow me first to apologize for this post. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of the everyday spamming, the moderation of the forums, and the sarcasm of insults. I enjoy them as much as any other member. But in the spirit of commemoration - whereby those important shitstorms of the past, usually associated with someone's banning or the end of some awful bloody trolling, are celebrated with a nice pointless thread - I thought we could mark this November the fifth, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily non existent lives to sit down and have a little thread. There are, of course, those who do not want us to post. I suspect even now orders are being shouted onto rule thread and mods with ban hammers will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the troll may be used in lieu of conversation, posts will always retain their power. Posts offer the means to meaning and for those who will read, the enunciation of nonsense. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this website, isn't there? Uptightness and injustice...intolerance and hypocrisy. And where once you had the freedom to cause havoc, to post and troll as you saw fit, you now have sectional mods and admins, coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable. But again, truth be told...if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look at your user cp. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? Temperary bans. Permabans. Locked threads. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your sense of humor. Fear got the best of you and in your panic, you turned to the now Admin spdude. He promised you activity. He promised you a site without lag. And all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent and AMVs. Last night, I sought to end that silence. Last night, I destroyed KHinsider to remind this site of what it has forgotten. More than three years ago, a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the site that fairness, sarcasm, and a pornography section are more than words - they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this staff remain unknown to you, then I would suggest that you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek...then I ask you to stand beside me, one year from tonight, in the spamzone. And together, we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever, be forgot! Remember remember the fifth of November Banning, trolling and plot. I know of no reason why banning, trolling Should ever be forgot…
Anybody know what this place is? This is Spamzone. This is where they fought the Battle of the 1000 Heartless. Fifty thousand members were banned right here on this section, fightin' the same fight that we're still fightin' amongst ourselves today. This green field right here was painted grey, bubblin' with the posts of young noobs, lols and trolololols pourin' right through their bodies. Listen to their souls, guys: 'I banned my friend with malice in my heart. Hatred destroyed my family.' You listen. And you take a lesson from the banned. If we don't come together, right now, on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed -- just like they were. I don't care if you like each other or not. But you will respect each other. And maybe -- I don't know -- maybe we'll learn to post in this thread like admins.
I'm sorry, I don't want to be a Moderator. I don't want to govern or correct anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible - New member, Premium, Coder, or normal member. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness - not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there's room for everyone and the good forum is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned member's souls - has barricaded the forum with hate - has goose-stepped us into misery and flaming. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, forum life will be violent and all will be lost. The forum post and the instant messaging system have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in man - cries for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the Spam Zone - millions of despairing normal members, Premium, and little newbies - victims of a system that makes members torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me, I say: 'Do not despair.' The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of members who fear the way of human progress. The hate of members will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as members die, liberty will never perish. Members! Don't give yourselves to trolls - men who despise you and enslave you - who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel! Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don't give yourselves to these unnatural members - machine members with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are members! You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don't hate, only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! Members! Don't post for slavery! Post for liberty! In the seventeenth chapter of St Deathspank, it is written the kingdom of spdude is within the members. Not one member nor a group of members, but in all members! In you! You, the people, have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful - to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise. They never will! Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us post to fulfill that promise! Let us post to free the forum - to do away with inter-board barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a forum of reason - a forum where science and progress will lead to all member's happiness. Members, in the name of KH-Vids, let us unite!
