No, the series caters to Girl (and guy) Gamers because of the ALL FEMALE CAST Its a big hit in arcades in Japan.

I do also...I think Gulity Gear for the PSP made me angry just because of I-No's battle at the end

That's japanese anime today. Most people buy it for the girls, but the smart people, even if they do that, actually start to enjoy the game itself.
