KH-Vids User Awards: Category Suggestions

Below is the category list thus far. Within this thread, you can suggest potential categories for this year's awards. Please keep in mind that category suggestions should be accessible by many members--use your better judgement.

Newly added categories will be listed in blue, and rejected submissions will be listed under 'rejected' (naturally). Please check the rejected list before suggesting to make sure it's not already been rejected. Nominations are not open during this time.

We are making an effort to condense the category list this year so if there are categories you feel could go, feel free to suggest that.

• After many years of User Awards, we’ve ended up with a rather extensive category list. This year the staff went through and decided to put an axe to the following categories.

What about Most Invisible?

 

I personally think that Most Underrated/Overrated should still be included this year. Why were they cut?

 

To crush Mish's dreams.

I'll also ask about adding Favorite/Least Favorite Fandom to the list
being a Whovian, I may or may not regret this later

 

We all know Doctor Who would win both of those categories, Cat. Or tie with My Little Pony.

"Biggest Fan?" Not about a specific medium, but nominees could be paired what they're considered to be fans of (Cat and RDJ, Ienzo and Doctor Who, Arch and Type-0) or even genres (libre and video games, Bueno and comics).

I wasn't the one who suggested their cut but I didn't feel strongly about them either way. If you guys really want them in we can re-add them, though.

Fandoms usually fall under Favorite/Least Favorite Fad (which was cut for lack of nominations).

No set date just yet, but I'll give you guys plenty (at least a week) of notice.

 

I'm all up for bringing them back. But if the majority aren't for it, then I'm cool with that. I always personally liked those categories. More Underrated than Overrated though. There are a lot of members and even staff members who are pretty nice and funny people but not many people actually notice that because they don't post in the Spamzone for example. Overrated is more for knocking people off their high horse, I guess.

But how can we disregard such a huge population of our community? I'm calling discrimination! TROLLS ARE PEOPLE TOO! But seriously, why was it rejected? :c

 

Of course, yeah, just want to hear other people's input on these (so if you agree, feel free to like GS's posts--much more organized than you guys replying with +1s or agrees).

Trying to cut down on categories in general, esp. negative ones like calling people 'trolls'. It's also a rather vague term (imo), trollish behavior could be covered by another category.

 

What about Most Followers?

 

Things like "most invisible" or "most followers" aren't exactly fit for the KHV Awards. Those are based more on facts than opinions (for example "person you'd most like to follow" would probably be better), so they'll get turned down. Try tweaking it a bit, or even just looking at the established categories before you suggest something.
