SFORZATO'S PATENTED POKEMON NAMING RUBRIC Jolteon - "Cream," in honor of Team Cream, an age-old multiplayer trolling tactic that I have never used personally but of which I've heard many a harrowing tale: Get a team of all Jolteons and name them all "Cream." Particularly funny in Wi-fi, where apparently some people will actually disconnect, thinking their game has glitched. Totodile - Stereotypical French/Louisianian name, like Jacques, because gators = bayous in my head. I dunno, I work in mysterious ways. Bidoof - Variation on "Noone" or "No One Cares." So named due to a short-lived Nuzlocke stream where, upon catching a Bidoof and asking for name suggestions, no one responded for several minutes, at which point someone said "No one cares," prompting me to name him just that. That Bidoof survived a crit with 1 HP. Sadly, the team was later wiped out, but brave and mighty Noone (pronounced "noon") will be remembered fondly, his spirit carried on. Misc. - Any Pokemon who takes about 7+ Pokeballs to catch, I nickname "Ball Eater." A double-edged sword, a mark of respect and of mockery all in one. Everything else - Song/band/artist names, movie/anime titles or characters, or any clever/stupid puns that come to mind. An example of one and retroactive example of another is "Keys," my Cofagrigus, so named for the song "Keys the Ruin" which plays in Sonic's pyramid level in Sonic Adventure 2, but eventually, before sending him out I would say "HAS ANYONE SEEN MY KEYS? OH THERE HE IS."
