Kingdom Hearts Need help with Riku/Ansem fight KH1

I know, this sounds silly but I'm stuck. I can't defeat him. It's in KH1, when you're total alone without a party and that silly Riku using his dark powers against me! What am I supposed to do! When his health gets low he won't stop using "the power of darkness"! And then I'm dead!

 

this is one of the few fights you should cast aero to give you more defense

also have a lot of ethers and/or elixirs to refill your hp and mp bars

save your mp for cure and aero only and use dodge roll and jump

aero does work, when I fought him I always died then when I used aero I finally won.

If that doesn't work find a guild to read.

 

The second Riku fight, cast aero if you can to aid you if you aren't so quick with the 'guard' button. Take off Dodge Roll so you can trade it up for Guard instead and remember that's the square button. You can add in counterattack and of course, ars arcanum which can aid you quite a bit. You may also for this bout want to use the Olympia Keychain if you have that.

He flies around a lot so one way to help beat him is to also fly around. When he goes to hit you, go for that guard button. The counterattack on will help so you can open him up to hit him with a combo or if you are lucky, a couple combos. When you need to cure yourself, make sure to fly away from him and if you can, set the cure magic to a shortcut. When Riku does the mega attack where darkness and lightning etc goes all around, try to hop in the air and also glide around to avoid it, moving to the sides of the screen more often. Don't bother attacking him while this goes on. When he is done, try to go in for an attack and release ars arcanum on him if you can.

i had a bit of trouble here two but i don't really remember the battle since i haven't played in a while, but when you see Riku use Power of darkness, it's good to be in the air then.
