But how do I know that you're not lying about Dr. Doctor lying about Noroz lying? I know because I'm lying.
So basically what you are saying is that you are on the floor or a flat surface of some kind. It depends on what I am a fan of. If you mean Doctor Who, then you are correct. And not so friendly at the same time. Waving that needle around is hardly safe or friendly to his patients.
You've made two references to it, so I wondered. Otherwise it would've been a very interesting coincedence. That would've been more interesting. Indeed interesting... Fish Fingers and Custard!
He will knock four times. What would happen if Pinocchio said "My nose will grow as a result of this statement"?
It would grow because not growing would make it a lie thus causing it to grow, then go back to normal because after growing it became the truth and stay there since it returning to the previous state doesn't mean that it had not grown previously thus making the original statement still true. Also he will sneeze.
It is a paradox. If his nose grows as a result of the statement, then he was not lying, and his nose will not grow as a result of the statement. You have said that his nose will grow as a result of the statement, and this is a paradox. Pinocchio's nose only shrinks when he tells the truth again, not when something that he says becomes a truth at a later time. In Pinocchio's universe, all truths are static and timeless. If it will be true, then his nose will not grow unless he says 'it is true right now'.
Not directly related, but if Pinochio says "I will give you a cupcake" will his nose ever grow if he doesn't? It isn't false because he could still give the cupcake at a later time and make the original statement true, but until he does it is false. Though the whole thing about being set on fire has to make baking a real pain for a puppet.
In that case, the universe would determine whether or not he would bake a cupcake, and his nose would grow if he was never going to. Alternately, the truth could be based on his own beliefs regarding the truth of what he is saying. My example causes a paradox in either case.
I've got it! Under quantum physics his nose will both grow and not grow since the statement is both true and false.
