Isn't his dodge roll overdramatic, I mean he jumps after he rolls. Sora never did that, don't you think its a bit to overdramatic?

It's called dodge "jump" really. *laughs* But yes, it's a bit overdramatic to call it that.

It's kinda like his one little flip move in KH1

His dodge roll is fine, Cool, but not effective as Sora's

The flip part actually doesn't make it anymore effective than Sora's. If anything it just makes it harder to time right cause of the jump at the end.

I think they where trying to make Riku's moves over dramatic and cool to make him look better than Sora in KH1 and 2 although Sora's style is much more effective and has longer combos depending on how you play.

I think it's just a way for him to get a little extra balance after the initial flip. I haven't seen it in a while, but if I'm remembering it correctly, it would be pretty hard for him to land it without the jump. Plus, I always found it useful when I was fighting Ansem. Ansem's attacks would last a while, and the little extra time it took for Riku to jump made you invulnerable that much longer.

It is a bit overdramatic, and annoying cuz its hard to time an attack.

it is kinda over dramatic, but it fits riku truthfully i cant imagin riku dodge rolling as often as sora.... and riku is more of an arial fighter so a folow up of his dodge would look more arial, but it is unneccasary due to the fact that your not invicible when your in the air so timing is critical

It is 1.) Over dramatic, 2.) A way of showing off his strength to the fangirls, and 3.) called 'Side Step'.

    I don't really think it's overdramatic.
It gives him something else that is slightly unque from Sora's moves I think.

Yeah, his dodge roll looks weird. I liked it better in COM when he jumped or whatever that is. For some reason him rolling in Re:COM really bugged me.

I don't mind it. Goes with the whole concept that Riku is "Sora+1"

Riku's move of dodge roll does seem kind of over-exaggerated but at the same time, he's stronger than Sora, and well his personality is to dodge but then attack, much like the little kip he does in KH1 fighting him, that he will retaliate with a counter. Once you get used to it, it can be useful, but it is awkward at first. In the end, it shows the two's different fighting styles based on how they are physically and mentally. Both are effective for what the two want to do. I do miss the dodge leap but with 3d, maybe it just made more sense with how things look to give him this new dodge roll. In a way, though, I wish they had just kept the dodge leap since even in KH2, against Roxas, Riku seemed to use that instead. Ah well, though.

It is pretty weird. It must take and excessive amount of energy to do. lol

Riku is simply more athletic. Compare his basic combo with Sora's combo.

Think of KH2. Compare Riku's aerial combo with Sora's aerial combo.

That dude must take some serious steroids :wow:

Riku's dodge roll got me out of a lot of sitiuations. I like more than Sora's.
