Video 'Show me Your Skillz' AMV contest

First of all I would like to say, I have a reason for putting the contest here and not in the competition area, mainly because the other AMV contest didn't get any notice in the competition area, so i'm putting it here, so it can get more attention and more people taking part.

This is the second contest i've hosted and organised here at KH-vids, the first one was a good success, and I hope to do the same with this one.

This contest will work a little differently than the other one. This time you only have a choice out of 2 songs, this is a contest to show you editting skills, and this way everyone is on same level.

Feel free to use any footage you wish.

I will be judging you on the following things:

Timing - <Did you time the clips to the beat>
Scene selection - <Do the clips fit the mood>
Originality - <Did you do something no-one else has done>
Flow - <Does everything piece together well>

Rules

- Not allowed footage with adult content
- Must stick to those 2 songs, any entries not using those songs will be ignored and will not be judged.
- Any entry entered after the due date will not be entered for the contest
- Ripping off someone elses work will not be torelated, so don't even try it, it's happened before and I have found out about it. It is the lowest thing you can do as an video editor.

FAQ

Do I have to use the whole song?

No, feel free to edit it by any means you want, it can be a minute long if you wish.

Can I use any footage I want?

Yes, you are not limited to just Kingdom Hearts, and remember be original with the footage you use, be different.

I have already made an AMV with one of those songs, Can I enter it?

Yes you can, aslong as you made it, it's fine.

Do I really have to use those songs?

Yes.

Are there any limits to video editting software I can use?

No, not at all.

Can I be a judge in the contest?

It would be easier if I do it alone, I know what i'm talking about and I won't be biased. Unless you are one amazing editor then maybe.

How can I enter an submission?

Give me a download link, and you can enter a youtube link or sites along that nature with it if you want, but I need a download link, because I have a plan for revealing the winners.

When is the due date?

The due date is Friday 15th December, but if you have said you have entered the contest a good while before the due date, but seeing you can't make it in time, just ask me, and I may move it back. But it will only be a last resort.

Allrighty Darkandroid, I haven't even chosen my song yet, but I am planning to partcipate. What I wanted to know however is, where can we post amv's so that you can download them? I don't have an account anywhere where I could do this. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Upon Listening to Dark Chest of Wonders, I can't help but feel like you want someone to do a One Piece amv, because it sounds to me like it would make a good opening song for that particular anime (I've seen about the first 80 episodes of it)

Good, because I'm working on an AMV right now that is amazing and I love it. And I've only done about 33 seconds and I've been working on it for like 10 hours xD.

I don't think I'm going to enter because my WMM is messed up and whenever I try and go to a spot in the song, it starts the song from the beginning no matter where I put my cursor.

It doesn't do that on my other AMV though O_o

Was it Dark Chest of Wonder? or Battle of One? because if it was battle of One, then maybe i can give you a solution, but if Dark Chest one isn't working, then well I haven't got a clue.

 

ZOMG! That happened to me once, too. Turns out the song was infested with a Virus. -_-

 

I did get it off of Limewire... crap.

 

That would explain it, why not try the links I gave out, I can say they are virus free.

 

Alright, I'll try them, them hopefully I can get it done quicker. By which I mean better quality. I don't want a rushed version just because of malfunctioning software.
