For those who are unaware of my history with this game, I have had it for probably about five or six years now, and still cannot beat it. I have made two serious attempts in the past and got caught at Mt. Gagazet both times.

Right now I've just finished the very first Blitzball game (despite my failure to actually advance the plot of the game I ****ing adore Blitzball), which I beat (yay!), and am heading to the Temple at Djose.

Any hints on how to supercharge my characters or just general ones are appreciated. 3:

I don't have this nor have ever played it somewhere else, but I'm assuming you've already tried GameFAQs?

I do have guides I reference as I play the game, if only to get all the treasure, but none of them are like... an idiot's guide to playing vidya gaems.

Ugh, I hate that part :(

If ever you find a way to beat it, tell me ASAP XD
Then again, like Misty, I've also had it for a couple of years now. Think I might retry it. I'll race you >=D

I really suck at Blitzball. Really. It was the hardest part of the game for me.

FFX is pretty much already tailored for noobs (not as much as XIII, but still).

There' s only two advices I can give you :

    - Sell every piece of equipment you come across and don' t need (which is to say most of them), the only thing that you actually need to buy in this game is phoenix downs (and maybe the capture weapons). I always got tons of cash that way, which is good cause Yojimbo can kill ANY enemy in the game as long as Yuna gives him enough money.

    - Don' t dezombify your characters when you fight Seymour at Mt. Gagazet, eventually he' ll use an attack that kills any character who
    isn' t zombified.

If you still have trouble then maybe you need to read an abilities guide to check which one you want to give to each character (if you chose the expert sphere grid that is, the regular grid doesn' t give you much of a choice) and which one are actually useful/powerful. I' d also tell you to do lots of random battles if your characters seem under-developed but that seems like a given. Oh, and if you like bitzball that much you can get Wakka' s last limit break that way (by far the most powerful limit break in this game)

The only way to win Final Fantasy X is to not play it.

I'd recommend leveling you characters up quite a bit. It is a bit tedious, but it makes it that much easier.
    That, and what Patman recommended.

For the Seymour battle all I did was just get all my characters and summon to be at overdrive when I entered the battle, he was dead pretty quickly.

For the rest of the battles I'd just recommend using haste on all your party members, that will finish off everything in a moment.

Train a lot... I had Tidus overpowered- stronger than Auron- and with a couple of hits any enemy would be down. Train in that place that the guy gets you to fight monsters you unlocked... and choose to fight tonberry. I dont remember the exact tactic but with certain equipment he gives you tons of exp.
Also yojimbo is like a secret weapon. give him the magic number and he'll do zanmato most times. Except for bosses... but he can do it in dark aeons.

I assume you have been stuck at the Seymour Flux fight, which is generally considered one of the hardest in the game. You can poison him to make the battle somewhat easier (he's not immune to it). And have all your aeons at the ready with an Overdrive.

I always level up my characters evenly, and fight every battle.
    Kind of a given, though.

Yeah I always tried to spend time leveling my characters but I always just had the feeling I was missing something when it came to the Sphere Grid. I activated all of the ones I came across but I dunno. :x

But thank you all, I will try to do some of that stuff. :L
(and yes, I was stuck at the Seymour fight)

well, just grind a little bit. What I've done the last time and going to do this time is first train with Tidus so I get Blitz Ace on Besaid, and then spend a few hours just fighting those sin scales on the boat when you get attacked. You can get a huge amount of AP if you use cheer on Tidus, Wakka, and Kimarhi. And I've learned if you put in a character in the battle, even for one second, they get AP too, so first you switch in Lulu and Yuna, that way they get AP as well. Do it long enough and you'll be almost as far as the thunderplains. At least, it was pretty close for me, since I was right next to slow, which I usually get at thunderplains. But what Seymour fight were you stuck at? And you're not missing anything if you get the stuff you pass by on the sphere grid, it just depends on how far you are on the grid compared to the game

The one on Mt. Gagazet, knowing Final Fantasy games he probably has like sixteen forms. :x I'm pretty sure the cutscene beforehand had Rikku and Tidus discussing
finding a way to defeat Sin without Yuna dying.

And should I use my aeons? I remember reading something saying no don't because you have to fight them later. :L

They get stronger as Yuna does, use them or not, they'll be getting better if she does.
Also, by the time that happens, Yuna can solo em anyway. With basic attack. And no attack boosts.

no. I've played this game many times, and I've beaten it twice, and gotten to about the calm lands or Mt. Gagazet for each time. So you don't want to fight with Aeons against seymour at all. He just kills them. You want to cast haste on your people just in case they get zombie or whatever it was he does. Hold on, I'll put down what they have in the guide....
ok, this might be big but it should help:

    Seymour Flux, Mortiorchis:

    HP:Seymour:70,000(3500); Mortiorchis: 4000
    AP: Seymour: 10,000 (15,000)
    Weakness: None
    Seal: Elixer

Seymour provides a much tougher challenge this time around. Tidu, Yuna, and Kimahri all have the Trigger Command option of talking to Seymour and raising the Strength or Magic Defense.

Use Tidus to cast Hastega, and have Yuna use her protect on everyone. Seymour will occaisonally cast Dispel on the whole group, thus nullifying your hard work!

Seymour's Cross Cleave attack can deplete over 2500 HP from each Pary member! However, those covered with Protect spell will only take half the damage. Seymour concentrates on a pattern of eliminating characters individually. He will use Lance of Atrophy to inflict zombie on a character. On his next turn, he will cast Full-Life to deplete the character's HP. You only have one turn between both of Seymour's attacks, so use it to administer a Holy Water to the afflicted character. Also, try to Silence Seymour so he can't cast any spells, and don't forget to use Bio.

When the Mortiorchis begins to charge up the Total Annihilation attack, it will preform it in two or three turns. One of your characters needs to preform an attack that will reduce oall of Mortiorchis's HP. This causes the chariot to siphon more life from Seymour and delays the attack somehwat. It's best to bring in Auron and Lulu at this stage of the fight. Seymour also starts using Flare spells, so cast Shell and Protect on your party members. After surviving the Total Annhilation attack, quickly use a MegaPotion to recover. This is hwen you can start summoning your aeons to help finish off Seymour. Each aeon will only get in one shot, so make sure it's in Overdrive mode!

Even will all these pointers, there is still a certain element of luck to surviving this battle. Make sure your characters are all adequatly protected between each of Seymour's turns.

I've never had any problems with him, since I usually attack and attack. I always have way more than 2500 HP by this point. All I do is attack, and heal when necissary. I don't even ever bother protecting my characters

Its called a Walkthrough, I'm using it, others use it, the end. Or Major Grinding going up and down Mt.Gagazet
