So I feel pretty awesome right now

So every year at school we have this competition called Quiz Bowl. You assemble a team of four people (plus one alternate, in case someone can't make it), and it's more or less team Jeopardy. Now I was pretty confident about our team going far, but I found out today that we were going up against the Valedictorian of our grade's team. So I thought we were, essentially, screwed.

We beat them 720 to 280. :B

 

Our school had 5 valedictorians (which was pretty stupid, imo, that's not as prestigious as a valedictorian and a salutatorian)
I wasn't one of them.
yet my test scores were higher than two of them.

wait how did you win when you got 720 and they got 780? Was it a game of golf?

 

That doesn't really make sense, at least not here. If you take Honors or AP classes, you have a regular average, and then a weighted average. Depending on the class, they'll add on 5-10 points to make up for the difficulty.
