You know, Hunger Games fans are beginning to rival Twilight fans in the "in your face" ness. Not everyone wants to read the books and this is okay.

    Yeah. I said it. :L

I have a friend like that. It's the reason why it took me so long to read the book. And it's also the reason why I like to troll about what I think about the book (even though my opinion would still stand without the trolling).

    This.

I haven't read the books and I'm perfectly fine.

I always felt that the books added so much more information. Honestly though, I don't really care when people spoil the endings for me. Since I know the ending, I can enjoy the story without wanting to rush through it to get to the end faster.

I mean, it's one thing to recommend the books to a friend because you genuinely think they might enjoy them. I am all for people reading more, and admit I can be a bit pushy with my books too (how many people have I forced to read Pride & Prejudice?), but there are a lot of people lately who seem to insist that your worth as a human is somehow diminished by not giving a fluck about Hunger Games. I realize they're probably in the minority but sheesh.

Really? I hadn't felt such, but I'm probably just oblivious. Just hearing anything rivaling twilight scares me. ._.

I simply reccommend books that I think are worthwhile. The Hunger Games was such a series. However, if you don't read it, you don't read it. You miss out on a great read, and that's fine.

Read the Night Angel trilogy. It's such a good trilogy. But it's rated Adult for a reason....:|

Yeah, recommending books is fine, and if books like the Hunger Games are getting people into reading, then it does a good thing.

And it's usually that crazy minority that puts a bad image on the majority.

Yes, but this is about thinking the movie is a good substitute for original material. It's like I, Robot. There was a a kid in my Latin class who didn't even know the book existed because the movie (which, by the way, is nothing like any of the Robots trilogy) completely overshadowed it.

Also, I, Robot fans need to get more vocal. FOR ROBBIE!

In most cases, when you think you made a funny pun, you didn't.

Thanks to those Hunger Games books I actually got interested in reading again....

Also, I'm guilty of being obsessed with this but I'm not a crazy fanatic or anything...I just genuinely liked the series, is all.

    (forget you, Tummer :U) lol

Lol I see what you did there. But getting someone to read/watch/play something may make them not like it, if she just wants to enjoy the film let her, I'm thinking of getting the books, when I've read all the other books I have on my 'To read list' but they'll just have to wait.

I think it would have been better to read the books before all this hype, it appears to be turning people against it. I wouldn't force someone to read it but I know I can be quite pushy when it comes to things I like. I would recommend the series to anyone but if they choose not to read it then it shouldn't matter if the ending is ruined. However, people change their minds a lot and she may read them in the future and I know that if the ending was spoiled for me then it wouldn't have been nearly as good.

On a less serious note, nice pun

I was going to see The Hunger Games, and then read the books, because my girlfriend recommended them to me after she saw the movie. After it's been forced in my face everywhere for the past two weeks

    I JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE (ノ ಢ益ಢ)ノ ︵┻━┻

    Also, I can't stand Jennifer Lawrence's face.

It's just frustrating when you know a friend will love something and they won't freaking read it. I was trying to get two friends to read it and they wouldn't, then we went to go see the movie, and the moment we walked out of the theater they were like "Okay, I'm buying the book". Success.
