If not for Hitler, the Nazis probably would have had a leader with good military sense and they would have won. Weird how that works out, eh?

No, you're right. Napoleon never should have gone to Russia either. Russians can handle a good winter. The French? Not so much.

 

And America actually once planned to paint Mt. Fuji red to lower Japanese morale. Face it, the whole world was filled with hare-brained schemes at that point.

Not necessarily. They might've never gone to war if it weren't for Hitler. He pretty much united Germany, got the Nazi party into power, created his dictator ship... If it weren't for him, I believe it would've been much more likely that the Weimar Republic would've descended into a civil war due to the economy and unhappiness with the Versailles Treaty.

Now, if someone with exactly Hitler's ideology, but who wasn't insane and had good military strategies, then yes, we'd all be f*cked. But I can't think of a figure like that at the moment (if there was someone like that, I'll give this one to you).
