Okay, I'll explain my problem now, whenever I try to open Smash Bros, a window pops up saying 'Project64 has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution' then in a sec it will say 'a problem occured to stop the program from working correctly. Windows will close the program and tell you if it finds a solution.'
    What is going on?

Copy/Pasting the Project64k download guide for newcomers to see:

Also, Moodkip, you mentioned that you recently got a new PC. Are you running it on Vista? Because as of now I believe Project64k doesn't work on Vista computers due to Vista's backwards compatibility issues with some XP programs.

However, Vista's Service Pack 1 which is releasing in January is supposed to fix most of these issues

    I figured as much.

Sorry for the delay, I'm not on yet because I've been meddling on my Mac for the past few hours trying to get it to work. I'll rant on for a bit about what I've been doing

    - Downloaded BootCamp
    - Tried to install it but got stopped at the Partition stage
    - Apparently my Macintosh HD needed repairing
    - Opening Disk Utility to fix it
    - Repeatedly got denied the repair
    - Got error "Illegal Name"
    - Had to delete a bunch of "Legal" folders that contained 'illegal' text characters that was messing up the verification process of the HDD.
    - Still got denied the repair
    - Had to restart Mac into single-user-mode (Mac equivalent of DOS)
    - Manually repaired it from the code line
    - Rebooted and ran BootCamp again
    - Some files couldn't be moved, thus Mac instructed me to back up my HDD then reformat the entire thing, then restore my user profile afterward and then run BootCamp again

-- Hell no, I don't have a free external HDD to back up a 55gb profile at the moment--

    - Went to redownload Parallels Desktop
    - Currently installing

All that while studying for a test I have on Wednesday. :3

We should be. As far as I know, PJ64 is the only emulator that supports NetPlay (well, I should say PJ64k).

There was a mac emulator for N64, but it doesn't support NetPlay so... I'm here sweating hours to get this to work. XD I have a PC, but it's a desktop and I'd rather not have to go to my dad's office to pay smash.

Luckily I have a Windows XP disc laying around, so I'll be using that OS for the boot-up. Then I'll see what can be done about PJ64, etc.

Well, I'm dual-booting Mac OS X tiger and XP. I'm installing XP right now, I only partitioned 3GB HDD to it. XD

Just need XP for the emulator and ROM ;p, and possibly MSN.

Lol, let's look at the differences:
    You're 19
    I'm 16
You have a higher chance that you know what you're doing
I experiment and cross my fingers

    xD

I'll just play it safe and wait...

I'm 19 and I constantly experiment and cross my fingers with my computer. I've formatted a good 16 times in the past 6 years. And each one was for any serious error Windows is prone to. Reformatting doesn't even include the number of times I've had to roll back. Those are well into the 30s. Isn't technology the greatest?

Also, only a matter of time until I'm on the server.

EDIT: Question: Can I delete all the other smash versions for the n64 that were downloaded along with the U version?

I'm also starting to wonder if we shouldn't just start tourneys for a number of games. KI Gold anyone?

Make sure you start up PJ64k, thats the one with the net play. Then go straight to netplay from file and it'll have all the servers and such ;D

Lulz, let's get back to the reason this thread was started. xD

    Oct. 16 Tue. 2007

    STADIUM: Home-Run Contest

What is the Home-Run Contest? It’s a competition to see who can hit Sandbag the farthest in just ten seconds!

You see Sandbag and a character on the platform.

At the start, it’s just you and Sandbag.
Then you just beat Sandbag silly, filling up his damage meter.

    There’s only a 10-second time limit!

Before time runs out, grab the Home-Run Bat on the ground and do a smash attack with it!

    PWANG! You launch him!

    Fly! Flyyy!

    Compete for longest distance.

Flight distances are recorded for each character. Go! Break the record! Set your own!!
But this time... there are four differences!

1: The stadium platform is protected by a shield.

Whoa! This nice feature keeps you from falling.

If you don’t put some force into it, you won’t break through the shield, so you can pummel Sandbag to your heart’s content. Surely this will allow you to string together new combos.

2: Two players can play together.

    Incredible! Two can enjoy it!

As a tag team, you can challenge yourselves to set even greater records. You’ll have to work perfectly together, though.

    3: Two-player alternating play.

Compete for distance in two matches!

Ah, competition—that’s what the Stadium is all about. Players compete to see who can hit the farthest.

    4: Online competitions.

You can’t tell from this shot, but this is an online match.

This option can be found under With Friends. And it supports both the two-player cooperative and two-player alternating modes.

This is some rather rich functionality. You’ll be able to play just this mode quite a bit. Amazing, isn’t it?
