(I basically put a few of my old stories together and am testing them out in rp and developing further on ideas. Yay creative name making. Had Terra help by betaing for me and such.)

    Introduction

The cold consumes all it touches, devouring the soul and mind. In its wake is motionless bodies with breathe but without thought. They lay there in a never ending silence, unnoticed by anyone who can bring them salvation.
After they are left untouched for so long their bodies begin to move once more, but not to their own accord. Black markings are now on their pale, lifeless skin. When it covers them wholly they turn into powerful beasts that hunger for human flesh.
The cold consumed a third of the planet before vanishing without reason. The third it consumed is a wasteland now where evil presides.
Another third of the planet is where the magical beings lived in peace, but are now threatened by the black monsters.
The final third lives without knowing the outside dangers. In The City magical beings either works for a secret or are hidden from the rest of the city. The rest of the population does not know of the magical aspects of the world and their government wishes to keep it this way as they have for hundreds of years.

    The City

Large buildings cover the area. Roads are all above the ground at least by 150 feet and a few cars hover along them. This leaves the ground level unnoticed and left aside for the poor and crime. Many supernatural beings, gangs, fugitives and people of the like live down here, and no one up top but the the government knows about them.
Up top people don't really interact with each other past school and work, expect a few good friends, and they live in a very advance world. And there's one man who owns it all without anyone even knowing what he looks like. They only know him as Michael.
He runs the known government that runs the topside, and the secret one that takes care of the bottom level and keeps anything supernatural and criminal hidden for the topside dwellers. This secret government is known as Ink.

    Ink

Ink is made of a mixture of human and supernatural beings. It has a 300 story building for a HQ. The first 100 floors are a cover posing as a business building of Hover Inc., a company that produces hover cars and hover boards. Beyond that are offices for each team (usually made of 4 members), labs for weapons for human workers so they can fight the supernatural, and the top floors are apartments so members can stay there temporarily or live there if they so choose.
Ink got its name from the founders who could bring their artwork to life. Some believe that the current leader has the same power.
    Major rival is Sin.

    The Waste

The Cold consumed the majority of buildings and vegetation of the land. Sand is everywhere and and the ruins of the once tall cities are inhabited by wanders and monsters alike.
Due to the rising of the monsters the survivors' lives were made even harder. Now only the lucky and the strong remain, trying to rebuild their homeland. The process isn't going well and most are nomads seeking to avoid monsters. However there is one settlement that is doing well. It has a man-made river that comes from the forest, which is only fifty miles away. Several strong fighters live here, defending the small town with their lives as many died creating it.
People here were once coexistent with The City but they now feel forsaken by them as no help came for them.
    Sin took root here.

    Sin

Sin appeared when The Cold vanished. They recruit people with nothing to lose or people who resent The City.
Sin's leader has a strong hatred towards The City, with reasons unknown. He wishes to tear it down and is building an army to do so. In the meantime he sends members to spy on The City and tamper with resources. Hopefully some made it into Ink.
Their HQ is a dome far under the sand. All of their members live here, but most are normally out on jobs. They hold a gem that opens a portal from anywhere and leads into the HQ.
Sin rarely works in teams and even when they do they don't always know who is on their side (masks and fake names are used). This is to prevent them from giving out other members if someone is captured.

    The Forest of Illusion

Forest dwellers, Elves as most call them but they give themselves no other name than people of the forest. They have been around since the birth of the forest, long before humans existed. They appear half-human, half-animal and specialize in magic.
The four strongest mages make sure things stay in order and currently wish to keep the forest out of the outside world's problems. They are highly respected and most people do what they suggest, but they aren't official leaders; there is no such thing in the forest.
They live in hollow trees and though they seek peace and do not bother the rest of the world the other two thirds of the world seek The Book of The Creator, which is protected by the four mages and powers up the owner enough to destroy an entire city with a flick of one's hand. (Some believe a mage created The Cold with the book, this has not been proven true or not.) And since each of the four mages are connected to the book they are powered by it, but none own it so they do not experience its full power. The trees are taller than the buildings in The City and ancient animals roam the woods. (It's kind of a Final Fantasy/Avatar mix when I think about it...)

Possible sides to join: Sin, Ink, someone living in the Waste, a citizen in The City, a fugitive in the bottom level of The City, a mage in the forest who leaves to offer peace to the City and the Waste, a bandit, an expert hacker, etc. You name it and you can be it. So be creative and explore every possibility. Profiles and information on them can be found in the OOC thread, which can be found here

    Rules

No godmodding, powerplaying, killing off people's characters without their permission, swearing is allowed but no going overboard, be active, romance is welcome and encouraged, but no taking it too far (the 'fade out to black' scenes are allowed), etc.
If you have any questions, PLEASE ASK.
Don't make a character that probably wouldn't exist.
I might break my own rules (most likely godmodding) for plot purposes. In some cases, I'll ask you to do so, too.
Please use proper grammar. And "for talking," thinking, and color code characters is liked, but not needed.
Don't get impaitent and have your character walk off after saying hi to someone because they don't reply quick enough. Though you are allowed to do so if it takes them an insane amount of time or they say it'd be best if your character did so because they will be busy.
PM me your profiles first before posting them here or in the ooc thread.

ooc - Since there are no Sin members I'll wait until I have more time to make the Sin leader. In the meantime I shall start off the rp so everyone can post. I do have someone in The Waste if anyone is interested but I'm not currently posting as her. I'll post as my other characters when they are needed.

Olivia Rivers, or better known as Olive, was in her room that was located on the third to last floor at the Headquaters of Ink. She was perparing for a mission that inculded going to the Bottom Level in search of people who had been evading Ink since they discovered that they had powers. They were only to use force if they were met with such. The real job was to get them registered in the Ink database with their powers and current strength. It was Ink's job to know everything after all.

Olive sat up after fastening her boots and streched. What a boring mission... Though there was a chance of a fight breaking out as Ink members weren't well liked by the Bottom Dwellers they were to act like normal citizens and it wasn't really all that likely. Either way she knew she had a job to do and thus left her room in search of her team mate.

Azure was in the Great Tree, a hollow tree that was the tallest amongst the forest, and the only one that was forbidden to enter by anyone other than the four mages. The reason for this was because The Book of The Creator was stored here, protected by its own magic and the power of the mages. The room it was in was nothing more than an illusion, made soild by powerful magic. It had a near clear green floor with tree branches running through it and in the center of the room was the book, floating safely in a large bubble.

Azure circled around the bubble, stopping a few feet away from it. It had not left the tree since before she was born. So possibly could someone think that it caused The Cold? She was troubled by the thought and could not shake it.

"So long, forest. There's just one last thing I need to do..." The mage tapped lightly at the elegant blade at his side as his dark eyes gazed upwards at the massive tree that stood before him. While he was planning on leaving he still felt that it was his duty to at least check on The Book of the Creator one last time before setting off. Every day he would visit the Great Tree to make sure it was still safe as if he was expecting something to go wrong. He adjusted the small pack slung over his shoulder before taking a step closer towards the mighty tree.

He arrived within the room nearly instantly and was somewhat surprised to find another mage already looking over the Book. "I didn't expect to see you here, Azure. Are you acting cautious like me or is something else on your mind?" He questioned although his eyes were not on the mage but on the orb in which the Book was contained.

Vincent settled himself comfortably on the window sill of his room. He sat there to meditate and feel the wind on his face as he did so. He could hear the piano song he used to be able to play echoing in his head. Sitting cross-legged on the sill he closed his dark eyes to the light. He could feel Olive was up and about, probably looking for him. Tossing off his long white coat, he stretched his wings, they touched the sides of his room and relaxed. Folding against his back as he hummed and let his mind wander. Olive would interrupt him and he'd go with her, no matter what.

Mya was on a branch of a big tree, hugging her knees and looking out towards the seemingly endless forest. She always longed to leave the forest and explore places she never knew out there, but since after The Cold, she was too afraid to leave. She heard about the victims of the cold. They wander the lands, scourged in this soulless mind. She shivered at the thought of being a victim.

Olive had reached her partner's room, it had been close since team mates had to be close after all. Once she arrived she stopped at the door and knocked. It was probably a useless act since Vincent always seemed to know when she was near by, it wouldn't feel right if she didn't.

Azure looked towards her fellow mage in surprise, not expecting to see him here at this time. But once the look of shock was gone a smile had graced her young face. "I just thought I'd check it, just to be sure." Her lie had some truth to it but was still a lie nonetherless. Lying wasn't something Azure liked or did often so she quickly looked for something else to talk about, thus leading her to see a pack on Grey and tilted her head. "So you really are leaving..." Somehow, Azure thought it was all a lie and that the mage would never leave the forest.

"Hm..." Grey slowly turned his head towards Azure and looked her in the eye, suspicious if she was telling the truth. Even if she wasn't, however, there was no point in continuing to question her about it if she didn't give him so many details. "It'll be a long journey. Even with all the things I've learnt over the centuries..." He paused as he took in a deep breath. "I only have a vague idea of what I'm really doing. Still, I have to try something. I'm sorry if you wanted me stick around longer." Grey turned away from Azure as he clasped his hands behind his back. "But...there's always room for one more on the path to peace." He added lowly.

"I wouldn't ever be able to leave the forest..." Azure walked around the room half way while looking at the book. It seemed to be floating peacefully in its slumber but just by looking at it one could feel overwhelming power. This power could either bring them peace or fear if they were there to bring it harm. Will it ever awaken...? She thought randomly before looking back over to Grey. "Many people are uneasy about the dealings of the world outside... Is there anyone else leaving with you?"

Grey shook his head at the mention of the book. He had been around at the time the Cold had begun and from his early memories it wasn't a pretty sight. After that time the protection of the Book had grown and now only the mages themselves were allowed anywhere near it, they were the only ones currently alive to have seen it as far as he could remember. "Well...nobody seems to be coming along with me. I'm not sure if it's better that way but regardless, it'll be a lonely journey if I go without a companion." He turned his head over towards Azure. "There's always two other mages to take care of things here anyways, so what do you say to coming along?"

Azure tilted her head in thought. "I dunno..." She paused to think about it seriously. "I'll walk you to the edge of the forest. By then I'll have an answer, plus I've always wanted to see what the edge of the forest looks like..."

"That's a good enough answer for me then." Grey looked away and extended an arm outwards as he waited for Azure to start moving. "After you." He spoke as his mind wandered over towards another subject. I haven't left the forest in such a long time...I can't remember if I'm the only mage to leave or not. It's all so foggy now... Even if the others had never left the forest, he felt that such a thing was not too terrible as the outside world was nothing remarkable compared to the forest. The landscape outside seemed too plain for him to even want to spend much time out of it but he had done so in the past in the quest for knowledge and the sake of curiousity.

"How polite." Azure commented with a smile. By only thinking of being outside of the tree she faded away into mist and reappeared at the foot of the tree on the outside. She awaited Grey to join her and looked around. Above her the light barley came through the many branches, but every time she would note how it could always be seen. Even the light from the moon made it down to them all the way on the ground.

While looking up she noticed someone sitting in the branches. It took a while but she noticed that it was Mya. "Hey!" She called out while waving.

Mya snapped out of her senses and looked down. She waved back and smiled. Hey! She jumped off the tree and landed next to them. So what brings you out here today?

"Polite?" Grey would have said more but turned his attention towards the figure up above them. When Mya jumped down Grey tilted his head, examing the girl for a moment before deciding to answer her question. "I'm setting off on a journey outside the forest and Azure is accompanying me to its edge." He stated calmly.

Vincent debated quickly with himself on moving and decided not to. He didn't feel urgency in her presence. "It's open Olive." Any other would've been amazed by how he knew it was his partner but then everyone knew that gift already, if you could call it a gift. He snatched up his coat and pulled it on. It had been spelled to hide the bulge of his wings but he still felt nervous when he fell backwards; always afraid he'd break them again. Right, get your head out of the clouds. Olive comes first, daydream when she's safely here in bed. he silently scolded himself and turned his head to the door.

Olive opened the door and entered. She smiled at Vincent while staying at the doorway; they were just going to head right out anyway. "We've got a mission. Should be a simple one, but you never know." She couldn't help but to be formal even though the two were rather good friends.

Azure looked sideways at Grey for a moment but then back to Mya. "Do you want to come along?"

Vincent stood in the window and breathed in the air before stepping back into his room and shutting the window, "My day begins. I go, where you go, that's just how my job works, Olive." he smiled at her and remembered the first time he'd said that to her. He stood at least a head taller than her and pulled on his black fingerless gloves, "Where to?"

Olive smiled halfheartedly at Vincent's words. There weren't much to say to those words that hasn't already been said. So she simply went on to the next question. "To the Bottom Level."

Vincent resisted the urge to growl his disapproval and crossed his arms, "Fine, but I swear this time I'll kill someone if they start something. No more of this useless holding back. One less for Ink to register." The look on his face was almost impassive, just enough annoyance showed through to prove he wasn't made of stone.
