You read the title. What music do you listen to when it's time to chill? Do you have a preferred band or genre of music? Or do you prefer to listen to nothing at all? Tell us what soothes the savage beast - and recommend us some good R&R tunes while you're at it.

Even at my laziest, I like to have a good beat to keep me company. I listen to stuff like Amon Tobin, jazzy hip-hop with a measured, deliberate rhythm. Every now and then I also delve into folk music, like Värttinä or Gjallarhorn.

I have a sleep playlist that also doubles as a playlist for just relaxing. It consists of a lot of Milo, a bit of A$AP Rocky, The xx, Phony Ppl, KiD CuDi, Nujabes and a few other random tracks from other artists.

Some of my favorite tracks in the playlist are as follows

    Silver Surfer - XV

    Crack Rock - Frank Ocean

    Lone - Tyler, The Creator

post hoc ergo propter hoc - Milo

    Angels - The xx

I usually just play some nice slow music, or more specifically something that isn't exciting like Thousand Food Krutch or Nightwish. A lot of times anime music is a nice way for me to mellow out

Something repetitive maybe. I'm not picky.

I have playlists for different moods, but when I'm just chilling I'll listen to a song I really like. I've been listening to a lot of Anime themes mostly, cause I've been watching a lot of them. Other then that I normally just like ramp it up and and sing everyone's part XD Normally something fast, most of my slow songs are sad so something upbeat is cool. XD

J-pop (mainly from anime), Skillet and the more soothing and softer KH tracks help me to relax a lot.

Mellow out songs eh? In my point, I'd choose anything made from MitiS or Lindsey Sterling.

Thinking about it I really don't have anything specific for mellowing out, which is weird because I have specific songs I go to for almost any other mood. Then again, I'm not one for playlists so I'm not really organized with what I listen to.

I'll just post a couple songs that I guess could be considered songs I listen to when I "mellow out."

I don't consider myself a fan of this band at all, but I have just been all about this album since I found out about it. (and Move Along is a classic)

This band defined my time in middle school and is still one of my tops. Phobia <3

Yep. The full album. I couldn't pick just one because they're all so relaxing. even though most songs on this album make me sad

    fight me.

For me it can be a lot of things that help me mellow out, but one song in particular is One-X by Three Days Grace

Hmmm it all depends for me, but I'll mostly go with these

Also it depends on the type of chill mood too. If I just got done with an anime more than likely more anime songs, but for just work wise, or just in general the ones above. But if I'm doing some competitive gaming and I just want to chill even when going up against try hards the calmer you are the better you play. I've been learning which is why I'm a much better player and enjoy the game more instead of stressing silly things.

Nova, you'll never guess what I listen to. :L

But let's see. Sabaton (power metal), Sabaton, a little more Sabaton, Dark Lunacy (melodic death metal), Dark Tranquillity (melodic death metal), and some Insomnium (melodic death metal). Well that's what I've been listening to recently, anyway.

I guess I'm more mainstream, but usually Coldplay, there's this Pandora station called Paradise that has Coldplay and other stuff that's just chill music for me

Ecco the Dolphin's (Sega CD ver, but Genesis too) soundtrack is great for this I tell ya. Grim Fandango's too! Dat jazz.

I also listen to Jonathan Coulton a lot to mellow out. Easy to listen to & his lyrics put a smile on my face.

Either Mogwai or John Butler Trio.

They're quite somber bands though, and the songs are a little depressing. Idk. I like depressing music.
