What is Spam?

I always heard the word in this forum yet never FULLY understood it. Anyone care to explain?

 

Useless messages that irritate and anger peoplw when used offensively.

Here's a better way to say it. Spam is a kind of meat and spam is this thing that pisses people so lets just say that spam is this kinda meat that tastes like brocoli dig?
