Why is everyone so afraid of the Swine Flu?

I keep thinking it's such a joke, but today in 8th period there was this announcement that they were going to bring around a Swine Flu pamphlet. The bald security guard with the handlebar mustache [his name is Bruce, I **** you not] came around and handed them out all seriously. And it's all like "IF WE HAVE TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE DOWN OUR SCHOOL DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD IN ANOTHER SCHOOL" and "PLEASE BE HYGIENIC TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE SWINE FLU."

Living in fear of the Swine Flu is like living in fear of being pistol-whipped. It's unlikely of it ever happening and it's more fun to make jokes about it.​

Well I agree the media has sort of over hyped it, but its been spreading like wild fire so yeah. And besides, people get scared with the normal flu. Always around September, you see on the news "GET YOUR FLU SHOTS"

I pretty much agree. As long as you have the insurance to cover it medically you should be fine. Otherwise, since your chances of dying are pretty good anyway, why not enjoy it? Go out and have some fun.
