A few weeks back, some of you chimed in in our Suggestion forum asking for some new features. We're still deciding on whether or not to add some of them, but tonight I finished up installing & testing Canned Replies.

So what are Canned Replies, exactly?
Well, you know how some users format their posts with custom colors, sizes, and so on? It gets tedious having to do that everytime you post, and Canned Replies makes that easier! With it you can simply select what type of custom formatting you'd like to add to the post and have it done automatically for you.

How do I set them up?
    - Head on down to your User CP (click Settings on the topbar, or just click here).
    - Scroll all the way to the bottom of the left-most column. There should be a link that says 'Your Canned Replies'. Click on it!
    - On the new page, click on 'New Canned Reply'.
    - Add a title, some sample text, and then format it how you'd like. Keep in mind, of course, that other users are going to have to look at this, so be considerate in your formatting.

    - Click Submit. You now have your first Canned Reply! From here, you can edit it, delete it, or add a new one. Normal Members can have up to five Canned Replies; Premium and Staff Members can have ten.

    How do I use them?
    - When you go to the Reply (or New Thread) screen, there should be a little dropdown that says 'Canned Replies' next to it.

    - Choose the reply you want. The sample text you put into your User CP will show, with the proper formatting applied.

    - Now you can just change the text to the body of your post. Have fun!

OMG YES. That's so awesome. That suggestion has been around for ages and staffies are always, "STOP BEING LAZY." Glad we finally have this around. Maybe I'll even add a special font now that this is made easier. >> Or I'll just stick to royal blue. Huge benefit is that we can have more custom options! This'll be great.

Awesome. Thanks. We'll probably see more interesting posting styles around in future. Also, you've probably saved a few hours of Jayn's life.

Now just to get AutoPM installed

Any chance you can remove the ability to share canned replies? They're going to get obnoxious quickly, especially if everyone uses them.

It isn't working for me. I'll select a Canned Reply from the drop-down, but nothing happens. D:

    This should help you: http://www.iatn.net/help/javascript/

It varies from browser to browser and version to version, but that's the general idea.

    What browser are you using?
I've only tested it in Firefox, silly me forgot to test it in all of them. xD I'll give it a go right now.

Hm, well, just tested it in IE and Safari and it seems to be going fine. Haven't done Opera or Chrome yet, but IE is usually the one that makes problems. Are you running the latest version?

Yeah, it's working fine in Chrome. IDK about IE, though. Might Need IE 9.

Try clearing the cache or hard-refreshing the page.

    Confirming it working in Opera.
