I don't know. She never tells you what time she is from, but you do get to see a Mikuru Asahina from the future! She looks a little older from the current Mikuru. She couldn't tell you anyway, since she was hypnotised to say "Classified Information" when something is...well... Classified Information.

And it happens a lot thorughout this series. Mikuru seems to grow weaker in spirit but her character is actually pretty interesting.

Kind of. She has to do whatever Suzumiya says, or else she get's mad! It's also because Mikuru is pretty weak and doesn't stand up for herself.

It's hard to summerize this particular series. The story is told by a boy who is called Kyon. That's it, that's what he calls himself. He's dragged into making a club with the excentric Haruhi Suzumiya. She is interested in finding the paranormal, but the three other members she recrutes are aliens (Yuki Nagato), time travelers (Mikuru Asahina), and ESPers (Itsuki Koizumi). In fact, Kyon is the only human in their rag-tag group.

It turns out that Suzumiya has special powers, almost like a god. She can make the world to bend to her every (and I MEAN EVERY) whim, but she doesn't know it. If she is unhappy, she can destroy the world. So it's the club's (named the SOS Brigade) job to keep her happy and occupied or else they die.

Yep, originally written by a person named Nagaru Tanigawa. The anime did a real great adaptation of the novels, and there is some creative writing in there. Currently, there are only three novels translated into english (but there are more in Japan). The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (covering the first five episodes), The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya (The second half of season 2), and The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya (short stories ranging from season 1 and 2)

Yeah, and some of them I read are actually pretty wierd. It's funny with the Suzumiya series because it's based off a book series. Reading that makes me feel pretty normal after a while.

I found a couple at bookstores too, but found them a little.. odd, even by Japan's standards. There was one titled "He is My Master" (I think). I reasd the story outline and my jaw dropped to the floor. I was like JYAW (Japan, You Are Wierd!).
