The second sentence was supposed to be something along the lines of "Because of my [Spanish] teacher, my Spanish is very bad."

Damnit, I write like this on all of my Spanish assignments and my teacher says they're good. He's not very good at Spanish himself, then. :P

No, but I am. She also spent a lot of years (I can't remember how many exactly, but I know it was less than 10) down in Mexico (I was born in Cozumel), so I'm pretty sure she knows what she's talking about. She said either conectarlo de nuevo or conectarla de nueva.

 

...okay, let me explain.

"Nueva" is used to describe a female object that is new (example : tengo una bicicleta nueva). "Conectarla" is "to connect" when referring to a female object object, and "conectarlo" is for male.

Nuevo is new for masculine. However, "de nuevo" is "again", and it isn't affected by the sex of the object. So the sentence would be like this: "Acabo de limpiar la computadora y conectarla (because computadora is female) de nuevo (again)."

So that means conectarlo de nuevo would be wrong because computadora is female, and conectarla de nueva would also be wrong since the "de nuevo" isn't changed with sexes.

I know my ****.

 

Then there's also the possibility my mom got mixed up. She doesn't speak Spanish a lot anymore, just with my father -- he knows English, though. *goes to fix post*
