Off topic: Why is it called writing stuff down and typing stuff up? Why not writing stuff up and typing stuff down?​

 

It should be typing and writing stuff from left to right. You don't write down or type up. I have no idea who the hell thought of those expressions.

 

Because most of the time, your writing something DOWN onto paper, and your typing something UP from paper/some other text.
