It is accurate. Lovers who like getting presents, specifically, quickly grow disappointed if you do not keep surprising them. Either you will run out of ideas or they will get bored. It is the same reason why people do not celebrate a person's life every day but instead use a birthday as a milestone. "If every X is novel, then no X is." That is what it amounts to.

Aside from that, I would do what Sforzato said. Just something nice. Eating out or something. It does not have to be expensive to be emotionally impacting.

My boyfriend (and me) have decided not to do Valentines this year, at least not get eachother anything. Not decided how I feel about that, it's cheaper at least.

 

If the money is tight, I can't say I blame him or you. I'm saving up to take my GF out but not sure if thats gonna pan out or not. I hope you don't feel like he's ignoring you or putting himself first. I'm sure thats not the case. If you do't know how to feel and want input on that, I'd say go with positive thinking. Don't brood or get yourself stressed on this.

 

My boyfriend said that since we're both short on money, we're going to spend he day doing whatever it was that brought us together.
