~A Haunting Fortress on the Horizon~

Alec tried to smile, but couldn't. All he could do was nod and say, "I'm happy it worked," and turned his face. He whipped the reins forward and Ebony started to move in the direction of the next town.

BIC: Mya knew that Alec was still thinking about Elaina. It saddened her too, but she didn't want it to bring it up. Alec... She sighed and continued riding.

 

"I guess we should just go all the way to Arilian," Alec said. "I'm too distracted to go back to sleep, ha," he said with a weak laugh. "What do you say to that?"

 

Mya nodded. Yea why don't we? She examined the rod and swung it around, hoping somethig would happen. She sighed and placed it on her back.

 

Kirie kept walking blindly in the forest, not caring where she was going or what she would run into. She was blind with rage and was quite upset over the little thing that happened back there with Serin. He just basically told her he was interested in her, which was something she didn't want. She knew that she had opened herself up too much for everyone to see; she didn't want anyone to see any good in her what so ever. Kirie wanted to see someone else, someone who more secluded and introverted. There was no turning back now, she knew that. The wounds of her past were reopened for anyone to see.

Frustrated with herself, Kirie finally decided to stop walking and collapsed to the ground on her knees. She growled shrilly, and then hugged herself as she knelt on the ground in self pitty. She didn't want to say her theory to Serin in the first place. She had a feeling the tables would turn against her if she even tried that. "They're all the same," the Faerie said quietly to herself. "All of them. Every last one of them." Kirie then grasped Luna within her hand and just stared at it. Why couldn't she control it so easily? Her hands still stung from concealing the light from the boy, but that really didn't matter much to her at the moment. Kirie grasped Luna tighter and closed her eyes tightly to block out the world around her. "What should I do?"

 

Alec stopped, an idea coming to him. "Hey, Mya...I have an idea," he said, his voice rising. "Let's train! Just in case we need to fight again before we get to Arilian, we should at least get used to having weapons!"

 

Mya cocked her head. Training? I could use one. Need to practice using the staff anyways. She dropped her pack on the ground and pulled out her staff.

 

"Stay here," Alec demanded of Ebony as he jumped off. He wasn't going to tie the horse to a tree. If they were attacked again, at least he wouldn't have to worry about saving Ebony this time. Ebony huffed at him, as if rejecting his request, walked a few feet, and then started nibbling on the grass. Stupid horse, Alec thought fondly as he smiled. "One second," the young faerie told Mya as he started to unwrap Unda. He dropped the bandages, showing a shaft as long as he was tall. It appeared to be made of a dark bronze, with silver runes all up the shaft. The tip was blue and reflective, making Alec think it was pure sapphire, but he wasn't sure. "Alright, are you ready?" He asked as he grabbed Unda with both hands and bent his knees, assuming an awkward battle stance. "Ladies first!"

 

Mya stared at his horse. Don't worry about him. She placed the staff kn her back for now and pulled out her bow. Since she was afraid of seriously injuring him, she replaced the iron heads of the arrows with leather tips. She then aimed at Alec. As you wish. She started to fire each shot towards his direction.

 

Hearing Serin's voice, Kirie glanced up back towards camp. It was so distant... did she really go that far? She didn't want to go back, yet his voice sounded urgent. "Just one thing after another," Kirie muttered under her breath. Collecting herself now, Kirie stood up and wrapped her cloak tightly around her. She started to make her way back to camp as fast as possible in the dark, which was a bit of a challenge. "I wonder what it is this time..."

 

"Whoa!" Alec wasn't expecting her to use her crossbow, he was ready for an attack from Lucus. He dove to the side, before swinging Unda. The spear made contact with only one of her arrows, knocking it from the path, but he had dodged the others. Alec wasn't sure what to do next so he simply ran at Mya and swung the unbladed of the spear at her.

 

Mya narrowed her eyes and hit the floor. She then extended out her legs and attempted to trip Alec. She whipped out her staff, hoping something would come out of it.

OOC: Its a bow, not a crossbow BTW.

 

"A dragon!? Woah! I gotta make sure i fully see it if i get another chance!" Raphael, feeling suddenly better, flipped upwards and landed on his feet. He smiled a broad and wide smile. A smile only as carefree as him could do. "So shall we head to wherever it is we're going again ?"

 

Alec almost apologized for hitting Mya, but before he could react, she had tripped him. He didn't fall completely, though, only losing his balance. He wasn't sure what to do next, since he didn't want to genuinely hurt Mya. Unfortunately, she didn't share the feeling and whacked him with her staff. "Uf!" He yelled as he fell to the ground, dropping his spear.

 

Mya yelped and ran over to Alec. Oh my gosh. I'm sorry Alec! I didn't mean to hit you with the staff! She helped Alec sit up. Are you alright?

 

Alec allowed Mya to help him up, grabbing her hand. He rubbed his face once he got up and told her, "It's alright, we're sparring after all." After a moment of rubbing, he locked his leg behind Mya's and spun, tripping her. "But now we're even?" He asked, grinning.

OOC: Guys, I hate to do this, but after tonight (as in after this post), I won't be back on for a bit. I'm going to try to get on at least once tomorrow to post again and I will try to post during the weekend, but chances are I won't be able to until next week. Starting tomorrow, I'll be on Christmas break and will be without internet service. However, there is internet available to me somewhere else, but I won't be able to use it everyday of the week (just three or four days tops) or for several hours (just a couple a day on the days I can get on). I'm trying to remedy the situation so I will have internet over the break, but so far, it's not looking good. I'll be back between the ninth and eleventh of January. Like I said, I will still be getting on, just won't be as much (unless I get my situation fixed). Happy holidays~

Ack! She fell tithe floor surprised, but flipped back onto her feet. No fair. I wasn't ready. She brushed dirt off of her clothes and picked up her staff which she dropped when Alec tripped her. I don't think the training benefitted me in any way.
