~A Haunting Fortress on the Horizon~

Kirie hummed quietly to herself as her hands glided gracefully over the flowers that were sadly drooping. They instantly perked up and spread their petals out further to show the full extent of their beauty, facing up towards the sun and no longer in their sorry sad state. Kirie brushed her hand away from the renewed flowers and smiled softly in satisfaction. She had been away from her flower shop for a few days to take care of an emergancy of a sick child, therefore, her flowers were asking for attention because she neglected them. "Human life is more important," she said to the flowers as she walked down the rows to examine each of them. "You are created to give mortals a little slimer of hope in their lives." A lone white rose was threatening to fall out of the flower pot from lack of care, and Kirie waved her hand over. The rose slowly stood on its own again, and she nodded in satisfaction.

Pulling a waterpot from the shelf, she walked over to a barrel that was in the corner of the shop and dunked the pot in the water. Kirie pulled it back out after she had immersed it, and walked back over to her flowers. "There you are, you're not totally abandoned after all." Her pale green eyes darted to one of the many glass frames within the flower shop as she looked down the road that led the way to a different city. She sighed out quietly as she moved the waterpot over to another set of flowers. "I always wonder what it would be like out there," Kirie said in a dreamy voice. "Ah, well as long as the villagers need me here, then here is where I will stay." The waterpot was set down with a plop next to a pot with a panda lilly planted in it, and Kirie walked to the window and put her hand on it in solomon thought. "Either the village won't need me anymore... or something else could happen..." Kirie pulled on a string that was tied around her neck and out came the pendulant with a clear blue stone set in the middle of it. Not too long ago, this was given to her. What ever she was to do with this, she didn't know. But somehow the faerie knew that it held the key to her dreams.

 

Mya waved a hand. I'm Mya. Nice meeting you. She examined their Veritas Magus and tilted her head. Veritas Magus? Like they say in the legends? She ran her fingers down her bow. Seeing them for the first time made her a bit excited, but it made her feel a bit jealous too. Seeing that she was the odd one out and them wielding such legendary weapons make her seem...a bit small from them. It usually didn't bother her, but this situation bothered her. A lot.

 

Lynnea looked at Serin for a moment, contemplating what it was he just said. For a moment she though he was crazy, but what would it hurt to try. She nodded towards him. "Sure, I'll help out." She said, "Only if you promise I won't die." She added teasingly. She knew she might. "Oh, you can call me Lyn, by the way." She paused for a moment, "Just curious, but how many Veritas Magus holders have you found?" She was hoping she wouldn't be the only one.

BIC: Mya nodded and sighed. Sure. It's boring around here anyways. It always been for the past 2 years. Nothing intresting has happened so far until now.

 

Thanatos is searching for the Veritas Magus. And he will find them.

The elder's words ran through Alec's head as he opened his front door, Unda -kept hidden by bandages and a pouch- handing from one shoulder and a pouch of traveling supplies hanging from the other.

He'll find Unda, no matter whose hands she's in.

Alec sighed as he walked outside, the bright sun hitting his face. He turned around to close his door, possibly for the final time, the door he's been opening and closing for almost twenty years. He didn't bother locking it. If Thanato's forces found out he had the mystic spear of the mages, a lock won't stop them from entering his soon-to-be-forsaken home. He turned around, looking at the people on the street as they went on with their daily lives. He recognized some of them; while he didn't make many friends in Etha, it was a small town and everyone knew who everyone was. He replaced his sigh with a smile, realizing he would get to travel again. The elder's mission, the mission Alec accepted without thinking it through but does not regret taking, passed through his mind once again.

Find the other Veritas Magus. Find who protects them. Band together. Before Thanatos finds you, find him. He cannot get his hands on these weapons. Take the fight to him, but you can't do it alone.

Alec started walking towards the forest, humming to himself. For an old man, he sure seems aggressive, he thought to himself, thinking of the elder. Alec pondered if the owners of the Veritas Magus could take Thanatos down. Even if they all banded together, Thanatos had the entire force of Fainth at his disposal. "Can we really do this?" He asked Unda as he turned his head to direct his words at her. An elderly lady passed him and saw this, giving him a strange look, obviously wondering who he was talking to. Alec gave her a grin, nodded, and told her, "Don't worry, miss, I know we can!" and picked up his pace, leaving the woman confused.

 

Raphael walked ahead, still staring at his Veritas Magus. His fiery red,blue,black eyes stared at if for a long time until he bumped into a Nephilim like him. She looked about his age. "Oh, I'm sorry miss." He made a slight bow and accidentally showed off his Veritas Magus. He looked at her with his strange eyes. He suddenly realized he was staring at her and started to walk away.

 

Julie briefly looked back down at the brooch she held in her hand before feeling someone hit against her shoulder. She slightly stumbled, but she quickly regained her balance and turned around, seeing it was a boy who had bumped into. She cocked her head before shaking it and waving her hands slightly. "Oh no," she quickly said. "It's fine. I wasn't really looking where I was going. I'm sorry." Her hands fidgeted with the brooch her hand; she quickly looked down at the item before returning her attention towards the boy to see him walking away.

 

Raphael suddenly remembered the interesting brooch she had, and started to walk back. Um... That brooch, it looks strange.Raphael clasped his Veritas Magus. This brooch gave off an odd aura. One only a person with magical power could feel.

 

Dyre plunged the searing hot blade she had just finished shaping into the barrel of water beside her, and lifted the protective mask off of her face. As the last of the steam sizzled up from the barrel, she lifted the blade again to inspect her work. She grinned, satisfied, and hung it up beside her other recently completed works. Dyre walked over to her work table and took off her gloves, and her ears perked as she heard the sound of hooves slowly trotting towards her. It was odd indeed. Her customers usually didn't come by horseback, and when they did, there was usually more than one. But she could tell: this was one horse, and one rider. She moved across the shop to the front window. There was a large horse — a horse of great power — that had stopped in the middle of the lane. She couldn't see the rider's face from his long black cloak, but he seemed to give off an annoyed air. Perhaps he's lost, Dyre thought. She couldn't think of a better reason for a lone rider wandering the town. She opened the front door to her shop, just as he was about to carry on. "Excuse me, sir!" she called loudly as she stepped out the door. "Are you looking for something?"

 

Before she could turn away and head her own direction, Julie heard the boy speak once more. She looked down at her brooch once more before looking towards Raphael. "It was given to me," she responded, raising her hand slightly to show him. A thought suddenly crossed her mind when she had spoken to the town elder. There are others with the other Veritas Magus.

 

Raphael stared at the brooch. It felt the same way as his ring. He lifted his hand and played around with the ring. The amber stone shined in the sun. "Ah, I see. So your brooch. It's kind of like my ring isn't it? It has magical powers. A Varitas Magus right?"

 

Deciding that she had enough of daydreaming, Kirie pulled her hand away from the glass and stepped back as she glanced down at her pendent. Ever since she recieved this, she was noticing a little bit of change. It felt like she knew what was going to happen before it happened. It was hard to explain to her. Perhaps the effects are already taking place. Kirie finger's rubbed against the jewel on the pendent, feeling the smoothness of the blue gem. Then she let it drop from her hand and let it hang around her neck again. "So many thoughts running through my head," she said to herself as she ran her fingers through her green hair. "No matter, there's work to be done." She smoothed her hair back with her fingers and then grabbed a piece of thin leather that was sitting on a wooden counter. She then tied the piece of leather around her hair, securing it in place. She then began to wrap her hair around the first hair tie until she made it into a bun. Grabbing another piece of leather, she tied that around the bun. She then lowered her hand from her handy work and smiled. "I guess I look like a professional now."

Grabbing a basket from the counter, she walked out of her flower shop and into the crisp, clean air. Kirie shut the door behind her and locked it up. Tucking the pendent back under her shirt, she started to stroll down the street to the market place to grab a few things she needed.

 

Mya followed Serin, not really sure what to do. She looked around as she followed, then walked up to Serin. I want to ask something Serin. If we were to leave this powerful Mage alive, what would happen to the fate of this planet?

The faerie walked a slow pace as she browsed the goods and wares of the village market. She nodded to those who stared at her, not minding it one bit. Her green hair did stand out after all. Pulling her basket closer to herself, she continued to walk, browsing the stands. "Let's see... what do I need anyways? Ah yes, more food, some seeds if possible, and maybe a small pair of sheers." Proud that she remembered her small list, she walked on with purpose now. She gradually came to a stop when she came to a fruit stand with all different kinds of food to choose from. Don't let your stomach run away with you again.

Kirie plucked an apple from the stand and examined it carefully. It wasn't bruised, there were no worm marks on it, and it had a nice sheen to it. In fact, the fruit stand had very good fruit in all. "Good harvest this year?" Kirie asked as she looked over at the owner of the stand. The plump man just nodded his head while watching Kirie with cautious eyes. Kirie looked away from the man as she tossed her apple in the air and caught it. "I'll take three more of these."

 

Elaina held a staff in her hand. Power emanated from its core. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end as she gripped it between her fists. "Lucus..." She whispered to herself.

She was in Etha, home of the elves. This was definitely new for her. All her life she'd lived in Murex, and her family had been one of, if not the only elf family living there. She had traveled to Etha by horse, and hers was currently resting in one of the stables offered to her. "Find the others with items like this." That was what the Elder had told her.

Elaina sighed, and walked to the horse stables. "Hey there Titania." She whispered to her beautiful Caspian Horse. it looked up at her and blinked. "You okay, girl? Sleepy?" She laughed lightly, and looked into Titania's eyes. "We're going on an adventure, girl. We're going to find others with items like this." She held up Lucus. "And we're going to defeat a big scary guy." She tousled Titania's hair.

 

Julie smiled and quickly nodded her head in response. "Yes. So I'm guessing you're one of the others that has one, correct?" She remembered being told that there was another in the town with a Veritas Magus. She was just surprised she found him so quickly. "I recently got the brooch. I barely got it today, actually."

 

Len followed behind Serin and Mya. She heard Mya ask about the Mage. She was curious to know about this too. She picked up her pace and started to walk beside Serin. "I would like to know more about this as well."

 

"I've only had mine for a few months now. I found it completely on accident." Raphael smiled and laughed. "Mine controls the power of fire. The Flamma." He held out his hand and a small flame appeared from the ring. He quickly put it out. "So, what does yours do?"
