A King's Story 3: Dark Secrets

Nel gasped. "I'm sorry..."

 

"I-Its okay! I-It w-was an a-accident a-and I was t-too little to r-remember t-them...." Laura replied.

 

Nel looked at her, saddened. "I'm still sorry...and your brother...I must apologize as well...

 

"H-His H-Highness was o-only y-young..... Its n-not his f-fault...." Laura protested.
Cid started to think. "I remember that. I read it in the newspaper. Prince of Fire Kingdom burns Earth Kindom house. Two parents dead."

 

Nel looked down. "Dad.." She said to herself.

 

Cid put his arm around her. "Don't worry Nel. It was an accident. It means they do something that they didn't mean to happen. Like knocking over an bucket of water and someone steps on the wet surface, they slip. Thats an accident."

 

"How could something like that be an accident?" Nel asked.

 

"Well, when Kotarou was younger, he was powerful but he could barely ever control his fire powers. He must have been practising when the house set alight." Cid explained.

 

"I see..." Nel thought for a moment. "Do I have fire power?"

 

It suddenly exploded into litttle flowers.

 

"Possibly. Your mother was from the Earth Kingdom and father from Fire so its a chance that you have both powers." Cid nodded, smiling.

Akuji blinked, looking at the flowers.

 

The flowers floated to the floor before disappearing in a shower of sparks.

 

Nel looked at her hands. "I've never used them before..."

 

Akuji smiled again. "Pretty.... LAWLIET!" She looked at him. "Wasn't that pretty?"

"I can use fire powers. Maybe I can teach you." Cid smiled at her.

 

He nodded concentrating on his own hands, he clapped them together and nothing happened.

 

Nel looked at him then smiled. "Okay! I'll surprise Daddy!"

 

Akuji watched Lawliet. Looking at her hands, she copied him, clapping hers together. Nothing happened.

Cid smiled and held up his hand. Blowing against it, a fire lit in his palm.

 

Lawliet clapped them harder and more rapidly. Still nothing.

 

"What chu doing Lawliet?" Akuji asked.

 

Sparks started to shoot out of his hands. "YAY!!!!"
