Akuji smiled and blew on them, making a fire between his palms.

Laura looked at Nel. "Y-Yes?"

 

"Mommy! Mommy! Look!!!!" he grinned proudly.

Xyam smiled at him.

 

Akuji smiled at the fire. "You can wake up now."
The fire suddenly yawned loudly. A mouth small eyes appeared on it.

 

L yelled and dropped the flames onto the floor.

 

"Would you be okay with me having ire powers?" Nel asked Laura.

 

"HEY! Owch! That hurt!" The flames yelled.
Akuji picked it up, looking at the fire smiling. "Yous okays?"
"Yeah, it just hurt...."
Akuji looked up at Lawliet. "You nu like Calcifer? He present to you from me!"

Laura nodded. "I-I'd be f-fine!"

 

"A present?"

 

Nel smiled and hugged her. "Time fo practce after we eat our chocolate then!"

 

Akuji nodded, holding up Calcifer to him.
Calcifer turned and looked at Lawliet. "Hey..... You're the Fire Prince, ain't ya! I knew there was something different about you."

Cid laughed at Nel, smiling still.

 

Nel threw a donut at his head. "Why you laughing?"

 

Cid clicked his fingers and the donut burst into flames, turning to ash. "No reason really."

 

"Daddy said I was different" he told Calcifer.

 

Nel crossed her arms. "Hmph!"

 

"You are. You don't have a heart." Calcifer replied.

 

"I know, daddy told me"

"He what?"she said through her teeth.

Kazune suddenly got a shiver down his spine. "Ohh..."
