A King's Story 4: Fading Light

"Lets go then!" Rika took his hand, heading off.

Dark nodded. "From what I know and can remember, Nobodies are a form of Demon. Demons only have one female and the rest are males due to a dispute that made all but one female allowed. Just like male demons, male Nobodies are extremely protective over 'their mate' and will fight to the death for her. Pure Nobodies take that more to the extreme as to wipe out anything, human, Nobody or even Shinigami that tries to even talk to his mate but they daren't harm them either. Special female Nobodies are created at times to where the 'mate' they choose will be harm as a sort of punishment for annoying them. It basically makes them into what the female wants. I believe Xyam is one of those types, called Hiirou Nobodies. Hiiro meaning fire, as when they burn their subject. Kazune is simply a average Nobody, born and raised like a human child would be. Even though his biological form says he is a Dormant Nobody, his mind has reverted to a Pure Nobody, forcing lusts of killing and eating. Anyone we send down there that has a heart will most definatly die due to Kazune's mentality."

 

He followed.

"so basically he's a dog protecting it's master?"

 

Rika headed inside a tent. Coming out, she was carrying a large mallet.

"Yeah. But think of it more as a savage pitbull attacking at anything that comes by, even if the master is in no danger. No one can put a leash or a muzzle on it for it would bite nasty and there is nowhere to lock it up." Dark frowned. "I can't believe I'm actually doing good by locking him away. But on the other hand, getting the trust of the humans in this Kingdom is vital for them to fight for me.... I think I'm getting it now..." He walked over to his desk, picking up a pen. "The other population that wasn't marked down aren't human as we've guessed so they must be Nobodies. Pure Nobodies are too dangerous to have in this Kingdom of Humans. Dormant Nobodies are practically the same as humans, only with no heart so may be counted as humans, we just don't know. But what about Special Nobodies? They're too non-human to be counted but then again, not as dangerous as Pure Nobodies."

 

"I don't understand the mallet part"

"so the special one is somewhere inbetween?"

 

"Its the same height and weight as the hoe. So I don't damage the hoe, I practise with this." Rika smiled.

"Kinda. Only they're born out of thin air and can damage people when upset." Dark walked over a bookcase, picking up a book and flicking through.

 

"Yaeh, but what does is represent?"

"I damage people even when Im not angry"

OOC: i cannot stress to you how much I adore that speech down there....

 

"It's a celebration to wash away all our wrong doings. I use the hoe to tear apart a big futon and then everyone takes a bit of cotton, makes it into a ball and floats it down the river. To make the cotton pure, I have to do a dance first." Rika smiled.

"I know."

 

"I get it now"

she smiled."still I don't see the point in protecting something that as good as dead, unless he's taking his marriage vows seriously and won't give up until she fades away"

 

"Yup." Rika smiled. "As the cotton floats down the river, it starts to disintergrate and eventually nothing will be left, showing your sins have gone."

"To us, Xyam is as good as dead. To any Nobody, she can be revived as she hasn't faded away, being still alive." Dark replied.

 

"can I have a go?"

"but surely he knows that she'll never wake up considering I'm 'dead'l

 

Rika nodded. "Yup. You and your brother can have a go at it."

"Think about it like this. If you knew that the only way to save your lover from a deep coma was to find a person but that person was dead, what would you do? Be depressed? Give up? No. You'd find someone else just like that person." Dark looked at her. "If Kazune dies, Artemis can give up his heart to revive him, thus becoming a Nobody himself. If Kazune dies again, all they would have to do is seek me. It's the same with Xyam. If she goes into a coma, all she needs is you. Being pretty smart as he is, Kazune will probably work out he will need someone like you. It could be a Shinigami. It could be an Atlantean. It could even be a Human."

 

He smiled and hugged her "yay"

"but that's the beauty of it, it has to be me , I'm her somebody So I'm her missing part and the only one with a mental link. Not just any old somebody will do"

 

Rika almost dropped the mallet. "Wah!"

"You're not getting the point. Look at me. Don't I look exactly like Kazune, only with a few changes? Our face, our body, even the way our minds function. I'm the perfect enemy yet the bestest friend. Xyam just needs someone like me that operates like her." Dark scowled.

 

He snuggled her.

"no I get what you mean, but it won't work"

 

Rika blushed, smiling.

"I know. I keep thinking from his point of view. That desparation that she just needs someone that operates like her.... It's his way of thinking, not mine." Dark scowled, looking away.

 

"mine~"

"oh well good luck to him"

 

Rika laughed. "Yeah, mine too~"

Dark nodded, sitting down in his chair. He stared out the window. Greatest enemy yet Bestest friend. Is that why I keep thinking like him?

 

"chu~"

Vivienne wobbled over to the door.

 

Rika kissed his cheek, smiling at him.

Great. Now I sound lke one of those hopeless robot girls from a sci-fi manga that ask all sorts of daft questions. Dark scowled more.

 

Matsu went red.

She opened the door and walked out.
