A King's Story 4: Fading Light

"Ummm" he reached into his pocket and pulled out some coins. "Here" he dropped them into the basket, still not showing his face.

 

Amai blinked and let go of the basket. "N-No thank you. You don't need to pay me."

 

"But you're a bakery, you sell your goods don't you?"

 

"W-Wel yes but-" Amai blushed more, not being able to finish her sentence.

 

"Take it, theres a little extra for you"

 

Amai shooked her head and ran into the back.

 

Rhyme peered around the back door, leading from the shop into the kitchen. She smiled, watching Amai and Lawliet.

"Lawliet! L-Lawliet!" Near shouted, running after him.

 

L blushed bright red realised that his name was being shouted out right infront of the bakery girl.

 

Amai hid slightly, seeing someone else coming.

 

"What do you want?" he asked quietly

 

Amai was too she to reply.

Near stopped in front of Lawliet, breathing heavily. "One..... I'm never......running again..... Two..... here....." He held up coins before sinking to the floor and sitting there in his unusual way. "Mello swapped them around. You're giving her Chocolate coins."

Rhyme hid slightly but still watched them all.

"Just another side of him. But I don't actually HAVE to be him, do I?" The figure smirked, disappearing for awhile. "I'm sure you'll reconisge...." He stepped out again, grinning. "This form." He looked just like Luxor.

Abee nodded, smiling still.

"Meaning also that if you want to learn about it, you'll have to take time outta your own free time so I can teach you." Cid reached for the whiteboard rubber, about to rub everything off the board.

Sky smiled, hugging Rai tighter. Sometimes he forgot he was slightly stronger then a normal 8 year old.

 

Nel watched him. "I understand. I'm willing to do it!"

Raikou squirmed, trying to breath.

 

"Good." Cid dropped the rubber and walked back over to her, handing her the book back.

Sky blinked and let go of Rai. "Sorry......"

Rhyme stepped out from behind the doorway, carrying a batch of cinnamon buns. "A-Amai.... Where do I put these?" She asked.

 

Nel smiled and opened to the page. "I'm ready."

Raikou fell to the ground like a feather.
"Wow. My poor daughter." Kami blinked.

"Huh?" Amai turned to Rhyme. "Did you let them cool?"

 

Cid nodded before starting to explain again from the book he was holding.

Sky rubbed the back of his neck. "Heh heh.... Oopsie...."
"Oopsie my bum." A red version of Sky suddenly came out from his body. "You did that on purpose!"
"Did not!" Sky protested. He couldn't get angry.

Rhyme nodded. "Yeah..... Vesta asked me to bring them out here...."
Near looked at the girl from where he was sitting outside. A sudden bursting of sadness was coming from her. He hid his face, feeling himself going red.
