A King's Story 4: Fading Light

Kaia groaned as she got up before looking at Kiku, "Yeah, I'm fine, should look where I'm going next time" She paused, "Is my nose flat?"

 

Amai looked at him. "No. She hardly comes in."

Kiku examined her. "No. You're fine."

 

"Oh...shall we go then?" he stared at the floor.

 

"Yes. Just let me clean and close up." Amai walked into the back again.

 

L watched her go and smiled to himself.

 

Amai eventually came back, fixed up. She grabbed her keys from behind the counter. "Okay let's go." She walked to the door.

 

Kaia bushed herself off, "Oh well, serves me right"

 

Lawliet followed in his usual posture, looking like he'd been hung on the back of a door for years.

 

Kiku helped her up.

Amai let him out and closed the door, locking it.

 

He smiled at her, still red. "Anywhere you want to go?"

 

"Thanks" Kaia smiled at her.

 

"I-I don't know." Amai thought for a moment. She usually didn't go out anywhere.

Kiku smiled back. "You're welcome."

 

He thought for a while. "How about....the castle gardens"

 

Kaia made a mock grand gesture, "After you"

 

Amai gasped. "I-Is that okay?"

Kiku laughed a little and started walking.

 

"They're really pretty this time of year, we can sneak in over the back wall" he smiled, knowing that they didn't really have to sneak in.

 

Kaia followed closely behind, making sure she watched where she was going

 

Amai was nervous but nodded. "Okay."

Kiku looked around the forest, sdmiring it's simple beauty.

 

He smiled shyly at her and began to walk towards the castle.

 

Amai walked alongside him. She figdetted with her hands.
