A King's Story 4: Fading Light

"It is my concern. You're looking for me, aren't you?" Akuji smiled.

 

Clark kept his eyes on her, showing no expression. "And what is it to you if I am?"

 

"Why're you looking for me? You're desperate to ask me something, aren't you?" Akuji replied.

 

"I believe I ask a question first." Clark pointed out.

 

"Go on then. Ask away." Akuji watched him.

 

"I've already ask my question and I do not wish to repat myself." Clark look at the book in his hand.

 

"It involves me so I must know why you want me." Akuji replied.

 

Clark sighed. "Sit down."

 

Akuji sat down next to him, still watching him.

 

Clark opened the book but didn't read it. "I've been having good luck..."

 

Akuji blinked. "Really? That's good then?" She smiled, acting her normal self again.

 

Clark kept his gaze on his book. "I'm not so sure if it is."

 

"What, why? Good look is always good. Hence the 'good' part of it." Akuji replied.

 

Clark looked at her slightly. "I hae stopped having good luck long ago."

 

"Huh? Why's that....?" Akuji asked.

 

Clark froze for a moment. He said nothing.

 

"Are you okay?" Akuji asked, leaning closer to him.

 

Clark snapped awake, looking at Akuji a bit frightened for a mere second. Quickly closing his eyes, he looked away from her.

 

"What's wrong? Somethings wrong, I can tell." Akuji replied, starting to get worried.

 

"It's nothing." Clark replied, standing up.
