A King's Story 4: Fading Light

Raikou's jaw dropped slightly. "I can't wait! Yay!" She hugged his legs. "Now carry me before I get too big!"

 

Alphonse laughed. "Sky, don't you think you think it's because you lack a certain white substance in your diet?"
Sky scowled. "I HATE milk! It's like drinking VOMIT!"

 

Opal pouted, "Food?"

 

"I love milk!" Raikou shouted.
Kami laughed. "Sweety, there's no need to scream."

 

"Jeez, stop whining." Abee sighed, heading into the kitchen and pulling out cold pizza from the fridge.

"Well I hate it." Sky replied.
"Then you'll just stay as small as a bean."
"A bean?!"
"Yeah. A little, tiny, weeny BEAN." Alphonse smirked.

 

Kami slugged Alphonse's shoulder lightly. "Stop teasing you son."

 

"I'm not whining. Anyway, nice" Opal smiled.

 

"I'm allowed to." Alphonse laughed, putting Raikou down.
Sky crossed his arms. Crouching on the floor, he started to draw a circle there.
Alphonse blinked, watching him.

Abee handed some to her, eating a slice.

 

Kami watched him as well. "What are you doing, Sky?"
Raikou hopped. "Alchemy!"

 

"Alchemy? Hey, I thought your mother told you not to practise that until you were-"
Sky clapped his hands together and put them on the circle.
Alphonse blinked, suddenly being thrown across the corridor.
Sky grinned. "That's for calling me a Bean."

 

Opal grinned and took a bite, she frowned briefly as she tasted it. Her sense of taste had gone funny recently. Things didn't taste like they should but she shrugged and ate it anyway.

 

Kami gasped. "SKY!"

 

Alphonse twisted himself in mid-air. At the end of the corridor, he bounced off the wall and flew back over there. Landing next to Kami, he keeled over, winded. "Okay...... You're not....... Not a bean....."

 

Kami was furious. "I told you no to practice that until you were 10!"

 

"It's not dangerous and I use it for self defense for when Rai gets picked on at school." Sky replied as-a-matter-of-factly.

 

Kami grew even more furious. Without trying to make matters worse, Kami stormed off to her room.
Raikou blinked, shaking a bit. "M-Mommy didn't feel like mommy..."

 

Alphonse sighed. "Sky, go to your room."
Sky marched off.
Alphonse turned and ran after Kami.

 

Raikou followed Sky. "Are you okay?"

Kami sat on the bed, head looming down.

 

Alphonse entered the room, looking at Kami. "Kami...." He sat next to her, putting an arm around her.

"What's the point of banning Alchemy when I'm so good at it?!" Sky snapped.

 

Kami's breathes were shortened, ready to cry. "I-I'm j-j-just trying to p-protect h-him."

Raikou frowned.
Chicchai's eyes widened. Raikou never frowned.
