A King's Story: High in the Skies

That's pretty.

 

"So, how are you?"

 

Mei blushed shyly again. I'm good. You?

 

Tsuyoki nuzzled gently.

"I'm alright, but these guys are kinda weird. I don't even know when we're starting our attack. It seems weird though, attacking an ally."

 

Mei giggled. It does but we have to do what is right. She smiled.

 

Tsuyoki shook his head quietly.

"I honestly don't think it is."

 

Mei looked up to him. What do you believe the "right way" would be?

 

Tsuyoki sighed, closing his eyes.

"I'm not sure. I don't think any of this is the right way."

 

Mei looked down. War is never the answer. But if we don't fight, then we will live in fear and hate. Nothing good would come of it. Being a Chosen One, you must understand your duty.

 

"I know that, Mei." Tsuyoki blurted.

"i've known that since I became a soldier. However, a soldier isn't supposed to go on the offensive, they are meant to protect."

 

Mei sighed. That's true. But in a way, you are protecting.

 

Tsuyoki sat down slowly, his fingers running down Mei's leg.

"I am protecting by killing. We kill things for food so we can live. Still, killing is killing. We didn't even attempt democratic means."

 

Mei watched him the sat next to him. I think they did but it didn't work with the Earth King.

 

"Then we should have tried with some of the royalty. To sway them to our ideals."

 

Mei put her hand on Tsuyoki's leg. It's the Earth King who is mainly behind this. i have not much idea what he is doing.

 

Tsuyoki covered Mei's hand with his, squeezing gently.

"We truly have no idea about his plans or intentions."

 

Mei nodded. It'd be a lot easier if we did so that we can stop him without taking drastic measures.

 

"But do we even know if he's truly starting anything? Keep in mind, we are few in number."

 

Mei looked around at the others. Then she lied her head on Tsuyoki's shoulder. I know.

 

Tsuyoki laid his lips on Mei's hair. His eyes looking into the distance, but seeing something much farther away in his mind's eye.

"Do you think you'll be safe?"
