A King's Story: High in the Skies

"Sapphira... you couldn't have. I probably couldn't have either."

 

Cid looked down at Alphonose and felt behind his neck. Pressing on his neck, Alphonose's eyes widened and he passed out. Cid smirked. "I can't tell you while the Chimera is awake."

Kaida held her head. "All I remember is waking up, seeing men in yellow and black armour come into the room and steal Alphonose away...."

 

Kami looked to Alphonose. Don't call him that. Now tell me.

 

"Chimer- ALPHONOSE is not all you think he is. How old do you THINK he is?" Cid asked, staring at her.

 

Kami looked back to Cid. He looks to be 12...

 

"He's 3 years old. Born in the Twilight Kingdom as their young Prince, we stole him away." Cid smirked, looking at him. "When we brought him here, we speeded up his growth, making his appearance of a 12 year old boy."

 

Reese growled. "I know who took him..."

 

Kami's eyes widened as she looked at Alphonose. He's a prince? She thought back to their trip to the Twilight Kingdom. Why was I unaware of this?

 

Opal was still sat by the steam, now practicing some harder moves. She was trying to put it out of her mind but she knew she needed money. She couldn't stay like this, she couldn't keep sleeping rough and even now her tummy was rumbling. But how was she meant to get money? She sighed as the move she was attempting to do failed. She knew it was because she needed to concertrate more but she couldn't like this. She sat down and looked down. What could she do?

 

Kaida blinked. "Who?" She asked.

"Because even HE doesn't know. Also, to throw off his old Kingdom, he made sure that the Queen barely saw who attacked plus, we used chemicals to get rid of his emotions." Cid said, looking at Alphonose. "He can't feel or show emotion. Occasionally, his emotions appear and come into him, thus leading him to show emotion. We have to get rid of that."

 

Kami felt a feeling in her heart that she hadn't felt. She began growing angry. This isn't fair to him!

 

"The Lightning Kingdom..." Reese growled.

 

"Now now Princess. Think." Cid pointed at Alphonose. "We could shape him to anything we want. He could only feel anger and rage, spite and bitterness."

Kaida frowned and clenched her fists. "But WHY?"

 

"I don't know..." Reese stood up. "But i'm going there and giving them hell..."

"Not without me." Rei stepped into the room.

 

Kami sadly looked at Alphonose. But he's not lik that. Nor would I want to see him like that. She gave his hand another squeeze.

 

Kaida looked at them both, smiling. She hugged them. "Thank you. Both of you."

"He's not like that because he CAN'T be like that." Cid smirked and brought out a little red crystal from his pocket.
The crystal changed and another red Alphonose stood by Cid, looking right at Kami. He scowled at her, showing only anger.
"Its the feeling of hate. The first one Alphonose brought out." Cid said, looking at Hate.

 

They both hugged back and jumped out the window. "Summoning! Dark Arcana!" A large beast appeared and caught them. It started running.

 

Kaida watched them go, waving.
Sapphira pulled at Kaida's dress. "Is Daddy bringing home little brother?" she asked.
Kaida smiled and picked Sapphira up, hugging her. "Yes. Daddy's bringing Alphonose home."

 

Kami stared at Hate in silence. Explain.

 

In mere seconds, they reached their destination. They killed any guard they saw and broke down the palace doors. "Alphonose!!!" Reese called out.
