A King's Story: High in the Skies

Cid looked at himself then pulled a mirror from his coat that was hanging up. Looking at himself, he smiled. "Well, that curse is gone then."

 

Xyam got bored and drowned the ducks.

 

Hikaru smiled at her. "Almost home. Its a good thing me and Karou can build airships. Dad taught us, he invented them."

 

She gave up when she discovered that ducks can float.

Haruhi blinked. "Seriously?!"
Hikaru nodded. "Yup." He looked at Haruhi. "Can you keep a secret?"
Haruhi nodded.
"My dad isn't dead like me and Karou said." Hikaru said.

 

She balanced the ducks on her tummy.

 

Haruhi blinked. "Really?"
Hikaru nodded. "After the fire, my mom really did die. But my dad got go obessed in his work, we told him that he was sick then ran away from home. We came back that night but the house was gone."

 

She stared at the ducks staring at her staring at them.

 

"We had to go into the Castle as servants. Servants can live their if they have no homes." Hikaru smiled. "We met Kazune there when we were 13. He was 15 but still the same as he was now."

 

I don't understand...

 

"I love to explore. After I came to the Electricity Kingdom, I explored some caves around a triggered a booby trap. That made me age around 40 years." Cid laughed. "Look at me now! I'm 36!"

 

Kami was surprised. I never heard of such a thing.

 

"Yeah, me neither til I triggered it!" Cid jumped down and ran along to one of his books. Picking it up, he scanned through it and stopped at a page. "Here." He threw the book at Kami before jumping onto the airship again. Aging Trap. Commonly used in caves protecting treasures. If the target is old enough then they shall die after a sudden aging. If still young enough they will be too weak to go any further.

 

Kami read with interest. Fascinating. I didn't think things like this excisted.

 

"Yup and I discovered it! First hume too!" Cid grinned, tightening bolts and fixing things in. "Noramlly this would take me a DAY to do! Oh I LOVE being young again!"
Kotarou frowned, hearing clanking inside. "What on earth?" He entered the room, staring at Cid running around, carrying papers or pieces of metal. "Who the hell are you!?"

 

Kami looked to Kotarou. It's Dr.Cid.

 

Kotarou blinked, watching Cid. "Impossible. The Cid I know is a cynical old man."
Cid skidded to a halt, tripping over a pile of books and landing on the floor. Sitting up, he stared at Kotarou. "Well, NEVER. I was a crappy, cynical old man because I had a curse on me and my sons hated me." He stood up. "Now if you don't mind, I'm getting used to being young again."

 

Kami smiled at Cid.
Koyashi entered the room shortly after.

 

Kotarou watched him in amusement.
Cid jumped up onto a ladder and climbed up to one of the highest shelves. "Come on, where the hell is it?"

 

Kami giggled slightly. It's a whole new Cid.
