A King's Story: High in the Skies

"When we took away Alphonose's feelings, the first one that came out was Hate. After 3 years under our care, it took alot of working but we've managed to get Hate to not hate us anymore." Cid clicked his fingers. "Watch."
Hate walked along and went into Alphonose.
Alphonose's face twitched. He sat up, opening his eyes and looking around.
"So Alphonose. How do you FEEL?"
Alphonose looked up at Cid. "Bloody awful old man. Why do YOU even care?!" He said, his voice full of spite.

Cid looked up, frowning. "Crap. Alphonose."
Alphonose glared at him.
"Little brat." Cid grabbed his neck and knocked him out again, Hate falling out too. Taking the crystal and putting it back in his pocket, Cid took out what seemed to be a walkiei-talkie. "Guards! We have intruders trying to steal Chimera A-2! Stop them at ALL costs!" He shouted.

 

Reese ran up some stairs and down a hallway. He heard people speaking. Reese broke the door down and looked at Cid. "Give me my son."

Rei stepped in beside him.

 

Cid looked at Reese, smirking slightly. "AH! You must be the Twilight King. As you can see, there is no 3 year old boy here, is there?" He pointed at Alphonose. "This boy is just Chimera A-2. He's 12 years old, he can't be your son. And our very own Princess, she isn't yours either. I'm afraid you're in the wrong place."

 

"Ha ha ha... i'm well aware of what you did..." Reese grabbed Cid. "Give him."

 

Cid shook his head. "He's ours. You can't HAVE him."
Alphonose put a hand to his head, sitting up again. Looking at Reese and Cid, he blinked. "Why are you attacking my mentor." He tilted his head to the side.

 

"I am your father." Reese replied. "These people took you." He put his blade to Cid's neck. "Then, i'll take him back." He threw Cid into a wall.

Rei held Cid down.

Reese grabbed Alphonose and ran.

 

Kami gasped, completely speechless.

 

Alphonose stared up at Reese blankly.

Cid started to laugh manically. "How're you going to live with an EMPTY CHILD?!" He looked at Kami. "Run if you want your little Alphonose back."

 

Opal got up, she couldn't be all hopeless like this, she needed to sort herself out. She brushed off her clothes and walked into the wood. She wasn't getting anywhere in this small town. She noow had a sense of purpose about her, as she collected logs and strapped them together, creating a kind of raft. She slowly put it in the water, it floated. Next she showly got on it testing if it would take her weight. For a second it dropped in the water before floating again. She smiled, then concentrated on moving the water propelling the raft forward at quite high speeds.

 

Reese and Rei jumped out the window onto the beast. It ran quickly.

 

Alphonose looked back at the Castle he had 'grown up' in. "Why are you taking me away." He tilted his head to the side, looking over at Reese.

 

Kami couldn't move. ALPHONOSE!!!!

 

"Your mother and sister miss you. I'm taking you home." They reached the castle.

 

Alphonose looked up towards Kami. "Kami."

Alphonose looked up at the Twilight Castle.
Kaida saw Reese and smiled. She waved to him.

 

Kami breathed heavily, tears forming in her eyes. C-Come back...

Reese jumped up to the bedroom and set Alphonose next to Kaida.

 

Kaida stared at Alphonose. She blinked. "B-But Alphonose should only still be a toddler...."
Alphonose stared at Kaida, his face completely blank. "Who are you." He said, tilting his head to the side.
Kaida's eyes widened, hearing his blank voice.

 

Reese sighed. "Those people did something..."

 

"Something? Like what...?" Kaida asked, looking at Alphonose still.
Sapphira walked over to him, frowning.
Alphonose looked down at her. "I do not understand."
"Understand what?!" Sapphira said, obviously annoyed.
"You facial expression. Master Cid told me that people have 'emotions', one thing that I don't, making me special." Alphonose said.
"OF COURSE YOU HAVE EMOTIONS!" Sapphira shouted, aiming a punch at his nose.
Alphonose put up his hand and caught her fist. "Please do not attack without being attacked. I was taught that it is wrong."

 

"I do not know... but they've crossed the line. I'm going to declare war."

Rei appeared, nodding. "Me too."

"I'll contact Kazune and see if he'll help." Reese walked away.
