A Life to Lead ^_^

Xion hesitated..."I....I don't know. But she never has asked me to do anything, and she asked just one favor. I'm going to see it through, like I promised. She's depending on me, Roxas. I can see you once its done."

 

Cloud was shocked no stunned that he couldn't move a muscle. His eyes were wide and he stood there dumbfounded. "Zack? Zack wants to see me?" He asked not knowing what she meant. "But he's gone Aerith. Sephiroth killed him," he gritted through his teeth.

Demyx sighed and starred now at Axel who was trying to help. If anyone could bring some sense into Roxas's clouded mind then he could. He walked over towards Xion wondering what she had meant by staying with Aerith? For what purpose was she talking about? He glanced at Roxas waiting for him to try to attempt something desperate and he hoped it wouldn't come to that, but with the keyblade wielder who knew? "Roxas I'm not like the others. I'm not and you know that. If anything I'm the black sheep of the group. How could you say that? Listen to what you're saying? You don't mean that. You're just upset is all." He tried to reason with him. "Let go of your hatred towards me. It's not worth it."

 

Aerith shook her head. "you should know better. No one just dies and leaves. He's been watching you, Cloud. He wants to see you." She reached out and touched his arm, her eyes full of tears. "He's so proud of you."

 

Axel sighed as he couldn't believe how stubborn Roxas was acting. Was this all because of what happend at the fight with Sepiroth? He scratched his head trying to think of what else to say. "So would you hate me if I was the one that interferred if it wasn't Demyx?" He asked wanting to know if his best friend would feel the same way.

 

"All right.." Roxas nodded his head to his babies mother and took a deep breath, his anger dying now. With the relaxation settling into him, he turned his attention to Axel as he asked his question. "No ..you were my first friend ..and will probably be my last too." he spoke out softly.

 

Cloud let her touch him which made him look away after what she just spoke. "Oh yeah he's real proud of me all right?" He replied in a sardonic manner. "So he knows all that I have done. How typical." He wasn't sure if he could face Zack for he felt guilty for his death.

Demyx turned away not wanting to see anymore of what Roxas was saying to Axel. He was acting like a total hypocrite, but then again all nobodies were for they didn't have hearts. "Did I really do anything wrong?" He asked himself out loud looking at his right gloved hand. "Is my prescense just so bleak to Roxas that he wishes that I was gone and vanished into the darkness forever? I will never understand it? Maybe if I were to be out of his life forever he wouldn't have to even think of me, but what about Axel and Xion and Cloud? They would miss me," he sat down on the ground feeling mentally fatigued so striken with facade emotions that he leaned his head on his arms and only looked at the ground. He didn't know what else to say as a warm lonely tear shed down the right side of his cheek and hung underneath his chin level until it to dropped on the ground followed by another and then another.

 

Axel didn't know what to think about this whole sceniro of Roxas being so bitter to Demyx. He wasn't surprised when Roxas mentioned he wouldn't have hatred for Axel if he was the one that stopped him. "Roxas, if you think about it. We have all changed," He let the words hang under his tongue and then changed the subject. There had to be some other way he could convince him that Demyx could be trusted."You are starting to judge Demyx like Xaldin and Luxord. This isn't like you. Remember how others from the organization looked down at you. I never did and neither did Demyx. We treated you like a person. Tell me what is the most horrible thing he has done to cause you to hate him? He felt that he should know the truth about this whole mess. He couldn't bare to watch Demyx sitting there crying. What? Crying? How was that possible?

 

Larxene slowly shook her blonde head; she knew this question was to arrive soon enough, and Gex asking it was probably the best. Better than Xemnas ro Axel, that is.
"Gex, I'm unsure. I have no idea what phantom emotions are doing to me. I've never felt love before, only witnessed it when passing the odd couple in a street in twilight town or something. I realised that love, beyond anything else, is the purest of all emotions flared. It pops up at random times and forces its way out of you when you least expect it. Love can cause such irratic events and close situations, but the feeling of love, is something much more intricate than the mere show of it. Love is something that originates from deep in your mind, like poison, it seeps through into your thoughts and such.
It's an odd thing, Gex... I don't know how to answer that as a 'yes' or 'no' question. I just feel a sudden pull to him... because, when we went on our first mission together, I made a promise to him, that I would stick by him if we got in trouble, and look after him if he got hurt, and just basically stick with him. Whenever I go to hurt him, deep in his blue eyes, I see that promise reflected from mine. And it hurts to think that I would break any form of promise to him. Taking a quick breath, she looked at the madman with her cold eyes again.
"I don't know.

 

Aerith flinced, then backed away. She refused to accept this answer, but it was all too much at the moment. She knew she couldn't tell him. He would feel even more guilty. "You don't have to see him. I thought it would make you happy." she whispered. "If you don't want to see him, I can explain. He'll understand." She bit her lip, holding back the other things she wanted to say, but couldn't. She finally sighed. "Cloud....you can't change someone's course of destiny. He was meant to die. Even if you had saved him from Sephiroth, he would have died from a monster heartless, or Xemnas, or falling off a cliff. You couldn't have saved him no matter what he did." She had to try....or else he would be devastated when she left.

Xion went and knelt next to Demyx, her smile kind, if uncertain. "Shhh...." she murmured, wiping his cheeks gently. "You and Roxas can come with me and Aerith, if you both behave." Sharp pains struck at her heart, and she looked over at Aerith. Sighing, the woman seemed to be struggling with what to tell Cloud, she looked back at Demyx. "Are you afraid of the future?" she asked, smiling strangely and standing up, offering her hand.

 

Gex returned the stare with a soft smile. It wasn't the huge, comical ones he was used to, but it would serve its purpose here. Not knowing, That was an almost telltale sign. It was a hateful kind of love they shared. Bound by a promise, they try to seperate themselves from eachother which harms them. Then they come back together only to break apart again for they see themselves in eachother. If he had a heart he'd be laughing at the moment.

Stroking her hair, The lunatic tried to pick he words carefully. When he found none of them soft, he went with the most direct.

"Then I'll answer for you. Yes, yes you are in love with him. The kind of love that only nobodies get to experience. you hate eachother because you are diffrent and that is what balances you out. It is one of the best you can get.

Gex closed his eyes, and turned his head away from number XII.

Any other relationship, with me for example, would only obliterate you from your pleasures.

 

Larxene leaned into Gex, her eyes narrowing as she took her thoughts to new levels of exceptional detail, and intricate measures.
"When I think of me and you, Gexlion, I have an odd feeling. Said feeling, is minor discomfort in my abdominal regions. You make me feel warm, because in the bitter end, you are probably the only one that will truely listen and understand every word I say, all the way to the last vowel and sylablle that rolls from my lips." Looking up at him, she smiled slightly, and looked back down towards her boots. "You are most-probably the only one that has seen me in a talkative state, and acknowlege that matter with and equally as talkative manner, instead of questioning as to what I am blabbering about.
One thing you do ask, is if anything is wrong in certain situations. You seem to read me like a damn book, sometimes."

 

He brought her closer, feeling her warmth and her slender body that could shatter his own. He knew every word she was saying was true. To him she was a good. Well, not a book, more of a graphic novel. Each page was dripping in blood and drama. Each action is depicted in wonderfully disguisting detail. The pain she inflicted on others could be felt in his own wounds at times. Contact pain, such a new experience.

"That is because we are very much alike. In a manner of speaking, we are too much alike. Our pleasures are destructive so in time we will cast eachother out of the living realm."

 

Larxene nodded and smiled slightly.
"Agreed. One day, we will kill eachother, whether it be by accident, or through a bloodlust slaughter that was aroused by an argument. Either way, we will end up throwing each other into the underworld, never to return again.
With a slight chuckle, she closed her eyes and attempted to forget about Demyx, forget about hearts, forget about where she was, who she was, and why she felt what she did.
In the bitter end, this was a blissful moment, soon to be trashed by someone, or something.

 

"I already said why ..threatening to kill me like anyone else would, even if he claims to be different. Not having enough faith in a 'kid' like me to take care of Xion during that fight ..and just look at him Axel ..he makes the 'kids' look like adults. We don't cry as much as he does ..he can't handle responsibility." Roxas concluded, not wanting to repeat this for a third time. It was already tedious enough explaining this to them.

 

The emerald eyes of the masochist gazed down on the sleeping blonde. She seemed so peaceful, so serene. A thought began to stir in Gex's head. This must be what it's like to be a rain cloud. While it creeps across the sky, it cradles and nurtures a lightning bolt before unleashing it upon the defenseless earth below. It was a powerful thought. Playing with her hair, he let the arbiter of his suffering sleep.
They would talk later.
When the strength returned to her eyes.

 

Cloud looked at her not sure of how to answer for his mind was conflicted with several emotions. "Aerith, I would like to see Zack again and that way I can tell him everything. Perhaps he can even give me advice," he looked to the side and then upwards as he felt Zack watching him right now. "He would be able to help."

The nocturne glanced at Xion, while he was drawing an invisaible heart with his finger on the ground. He felt her touch and it made him feel comfortable and wanted by her at least." Yeah I guess you can say I am for I'm concerned about your health. He doesn't want me there and I don't want to cause you any more stress so I'm not sure if that's a good idea if I should be around him at all. You heard him. He finds me annoying, hates my guts and wouldn't even care if I just faded away into the darkness." He took her hand glaring back at the one who kept talking to Axel.

 

Aerith smiled a little. "We'll go as soon as Xion comes..." she took Cloud's hand and pulled him back to the group. She waited for Xion, thinking of how to tell him. Maybe Zack could, or would. She didn't want to hurt him but....he had a right to know. Even if he tried to stop it.

Xion pulled Demyx up, then looked up at him, her eyes sad. "Nothing can last forever." she answered, turned and following Aerith. SHe looked back at Roxas and Axel, wondering if they would follow her. Regardless, she had to do this. Aerith would help her. They had to know.

 

Cloud followed her and acknowledged what was still happening. His friend was still upset and Roxas was not backing down. His pride was still to strong, but that would only lead him to his own misery. Holding onto grudges was not going to help at all. Glancing at Roxas he spoke only but a few words to him. "You need to grow up especially if you're going to be a father." He walked away not caring what he said or thought. Cloud had his own plans and he did not need any more drama on top of his own. He would be there for his friends, but in the end it was up to that individual to change or not?

Demyx couldn't even look at her. Even thougt Roxas was being intolernable and narrow minded, Demyx felt like this was all his fault and for what reason just because he happened to care about the guy? He didn't know what else to think, blown away by all of the verbal abuse coming from someone who was younger than him and claiming to be more mature than him. It hurt his ego and he wanted to put Roxas in line for he had enough of the guy, but Xion wouldn't need that kind of stress and so he kept all of his bitter thoughts in and so he stood alone not even flinching, just cold like a statue.

 

Aerith spoke to Xion quietly, making sure their voices wouldn't carry, then took the book, looking through it. Xion closed her eyes, concentrating, then clenched her hands, putting all her energy into it. Aerith stood back, watching, until someone stood before her. She smiled, hugging Zack as Xion wobbled, smiling.

 

Cloud was silent as he gazed at his friend glad to see him, but also ashamed of everything that had happened. He needed to talk to him alone. "Zack," he blurted out as if his inner child was coming forth, "I missed you and I need to talk to you alone."

Demyx turned his head, curious to see what Cloud's friend looked like and then upon the satisfaction of seeing him, he turned back around not looking at anyone. He heard Cloud say that he wanted to be alone with his deceased friend. Taking that into consideration, Demyx conjured himself up a portal to leave. There was no point for him sticking around here anymore. When Cloud was finished talking to him, he would come back for him. Gazing into the swirly darkness, he thought that was his future doomed to be alone forever and shunned by those who he thought were his friends. The only thing that made him happy was his sitar for it couldn't hurt him. Taking a step into the darkness, it began to consume him as he was ready to portal out of the area.
