A Ripple in the Pond~ Dark Times

Eva stood there, feeling Risit's eyes on her, but she couldn't look at him. Suddenly, she heard a commotion outside and turned to the door. Instincts kicking in, Eva opened the door and hustled outside. There she saw the villagers standing around a horse, but they were pulling someone off of it. She heard the person cry out in pain and then her heart froze. It was one of the princes... Eva quickly rushed over, pushing the crowd to the side as she made her way through. When she came to the opening, she could see the prince, arrow sticking out of him and all. Thinking quickly, Eva came over and knelt by his side, examining him as Risit taught her. His breaths were short, almost rigged. If they didn't act fast, he could die. She looked over her shoulder and called out to her adoptive father. "Risit!"


Edmund heard his own heart beat in his ears as he took in quick breaths. His eyes shut in pain as he furrowed his eyebrows, taking in short breaths through his teeth. The pain was there now, and it was almost unbearable. He didn't know where to turn or if he should stay put or not. The world was being too loud, and everything was bright.

Madison frowned and hung her head, but this was usually normal. "Okay..." she said relunctantly. She grabbed for her sister's hand and waited for her sister to lead the way.

Helena saw that it was morning. The town was quiet as the sun had only recently risen in the horizen. There was also a cool breeze and the sky was clouded, Helena's kind of day. She really didn't like it when the sun was out and bright; especially after spending most of her time inside the dungens where it was so dark. Either way, she had to get going now. She already had a bag tossed over her shoulder and knew she could last just fine through the long travel ahead of her with or without help so she headed out, pulling her hood over her face while doing so. (Hmm....Unless she interacts with Willow I think this is the last post with her for a while till she appears in the town and such. Already has an idea as to how that will happen.)


"Sorry." Elizabeth muttered under her breath as she took Madison's hand into her own and lead the way outside. Once she was past the castle gates she saw her older brother in the hands of the royal doctor and rushed over there with Madison. "What has happened? Is he okay?"

 

Following his orders, Rath calmly walked out of the dungeons and went outside. The moment he got outside he covered his eyes from the sunlight after staying in the dungeons for a while. Once his eyes adjusted to the sunlight Rath calmly began to walk forward. Due to it being morning time he began his mission and started towards his destination. A mission that didn't involve any killing was one that he preferred, but then again his oath to the kingdom gave him no choice in which missions he partook in

 

Willow stood out in the sunlight dressed in her normal gray colors, her fans tightly tucked into her sleeves and her bag thrown over her shoulder. Noticing Helena, she didn't speak as she walked beside the woman. Willow's mindset focused on their task ahead as she listened to their steady footsteps.

Zero stood off to the side and watched Risit and Eva work on his brother. He wasn't fond of Risit or Eva but at the sake of his brother he could put up with them for a moment. He winced internally as Risit pulled out the arrow and glared his cold gray eyes back toward the way Edmund had come. "Where was he when he was attacked? My brother is no coward and he is not unskilled in war, so where was he when he was attacked? I'll kill them myself." he spoke through gritted teeth as he kept a firm hold on his temper. He hadn't felt this violated and angry since one of the guards had landed a hit on him and corrected his mistake.

 

Eva didn't answer the questions that the royals had, for she was busy doing as Risit told her to do. She stood up from the ground, ran towards the door, and opened it again. Leaving it open for a little bit, she quickly went over to the bandage drawers and picked out some gauze, meanwhile grabbing the blue potion to disinfect the wound. She then hurried back outside, closed the door behind her, and hurried over to Risit. She quickly handed the items to him, being completely silent the whole time in the presence of the royals.

Edmund had screamed out in pain when Risit yanked out the arrow from his shoulder and then clentched his teeth tightly together as he took in seething, short breaths to stop the immense pain. He heard his brother talk, listening to what he had to say. The enemy was unseen, unknown... He couldn't have said who or what shot him. "The village.... in the north...." Edmund strained to speak, "It's... gone... Burned to the ground...." Edmund felt a tremor of pain wash over his body as his wound throbbed, and he arched his back slightly, trying to figure out how in the world to ease this awful thing.

Madison stood there in total shock, eyes wide in fear as she watched her brother struggle in pain. She saw the blood on the arrow that Risit pulled out, her face growing pale. She gripped her sister's hand tighter, not knowing if she should run to Risit and her brother, or just stay back and watch what would happen.

OOC: Hey guys, if I don't post that much anymore... It's because some issues in my family popped up, and I'm staying at a friend's house. For how long? I don't know. Depends if things settle down. So I'm using her computer and internet. I'll only get to post once in a while, but I promise to try to help the RP keep going.

 

Zero looked toward Risit and Edmund and back toward the road, torn between his brotherly instincts and his princely duties. "I'll take him, of course, but I will be going to that village. Someone there shot my brother and they will not live to see tomorrow's sunrise." He reached down and helped Edmund up. Balancing most of Edmund's wieght on himself, leaving Edmund to limp along. He was careful with his wound, and let that side of him alone as he half carried, and half walked him to his rooms in the castle.

 

Elizabeth watched Zero take Edmund back to the castle before looking back to Risit. She didn't like this man for a reason unknown to her but thanked him anyway. "Zero and I will take a group of soliders to check it out. Would you mind watching Edmund?" She spoke as she looked down to Madison. She wore an expression which said sorry, but would save the verbal apologizing for later.

 

Eva watched in silence as the drama was starting to die down. The prince was taken care of, there work here was done. But there was a small thing they forgot. She turned to Elizabeth. "Your sister Penelope is under our care tonight. She escaped her room and came here. You may see her, but she's too sick to take her back." With that, Eva curtsied to the royals and then walked off to the house without another word.

Madison was so confused with what was going on, especially after Eva told them that Penelope ran away from home. Her eyes looked up at Elizabeth, so confused and lost.

Edmund leaned heavily against his brother, letting him help him to the castle. "They're gone..." Edmund whispered as he limped along side of Zero. "You won't find them..."

 

Zero grimaced at his brother's words, "I will find them, brother. For your sake, I'll scour this entire land for them. I won't rest until they've been aprehended. You just focus on resting. Okay? I'll make sure everything is alright." His gray eyes fixed on the hall ahead of him and they finally reached his bedroom. Laying Edmund down on his bed, he helped make sure he was comfortable. "You stay here and rest. Get well again Edmund. I need you by my side when I become King." Zero left before Edmund could protest his decision. I'll get those fiends. No one strikes a member of the royal family and lives to tell about it. he thought darkly, returning to Elizabeth's side, "Are you ready Elizabeth? We'v a long road ahead of us."

 

Elizabeth gave Madison a small smile, promising her that their brother will be fine while Zero was walking away. She glanced over to the royal doctor as he bowed to her. "Thank you for taking care of my little sister." She said before he and Eva walked away. Soon Zero was back at her side. "Do we even know where to start looking?"

 

Zero mounted his black war horse and avoided Elizabeth's eyes, "We start at the village where they attacked him. Edmund said they were gone, but maybe we can find some clue as to where they went. I'm not resting until my brother's attackers are dead." Locking his anger down, Zero's cold eyes shifted uneasily from his horse to the road, "Let's go, before anyone tries to talk me out of killing them."

 

Eva shook her head whil putting the left over bandages away. "He said there's nothing left. Plus, there's been rumors that other villages are being picked off one by one. How are you going to find the sorce if there's nothing to follow?" Realizing that she spoke too much, Eva pressed her lips together and moved to busy herself putting bottles back on the shelf. "Nevermind... I'll look over things here," Eva muttered, keeping her back to Risit.

OOC: Go ahead and keep posting guys, don't wait for me, or this RP will move really, really slow.

 

Elizabeth frowned and looked towards the castle. "If they're already gone it may be impossible to find them... I'd would rather make sure our brother recovers. Plus our sister..."


ooc - sorry for the short post and lack of name usage. so dead at the moment...

 

Zero growled deep in his throat and shook his head, "Fine, then stay here. I'm going to find them. Whether I have to look all month or all year, I'll find the culprits who shot my brother!" His sense of justice was beginning to twist into plain and simple revenge. Kicking his horse, he dashed off down the road, heading toward the village Edmund had been at. Zero's anger flared at every passing second that he didn't have the culprits in his grip.

 

Rath calmly walked towards the kingdom of Blone. He himself was a rather quiet person who didn't say anything unless necessary. Looking over at the corner of his eye he looked over at the other two apprentices that he trained along side with. The two of them didn't say much which really didn't matter to him as he would really say much to them anyways

 

Zero listened closely as he drew nearer to the village. He heard hoofbeats behind him, turning in his seat he saw Risit, "What? YOU! Rrrg, it never ends with this guy. Meddling in royals buisness." Shaking his head, he turned back around and rode harder. No way is that guy getting those near-murderers before I do!
