A Scattered Dream

Demyx noticed Xion kept closing her eyes like she was trying to sleep or like she was in pain. "Are you all right?" He asked crossing his arms. He didn't understand why the short black haired girl was acting so strange like she was lost in thought and thinking of something or someone else.

 

She smiled, then put a finger to her lips, almost dreamily, and let her hand fall. It was like he was hiding....she spotted a flicker, and backtracked, but it was only Demyx. "I can't find him." she murmured.

 

Axel simply just leaned back on the clock tower tucking his feet in so that no one could tell that someone was up there. He didn't want to be found and wondered how he was going to deal with this situation. He knew that Demyx and Xion were down there, but he wasn't going to go talk with them. They could go ahead and find him.

 

Xion sighed, then leaned against Demyx. "Shall we look for him?" she smiled wearily. "The old fashioned way?" Stupid medication, it was making her sleepy again.

 

Riku went back to the gummi.

Kairi was still asleep in her chair.

 

Sora finally gave up. "Maybe Kairi and Riku aren't here. Maybe I should check in another world."

 

"Yeah if you want to." He didn't know why she wanted to find Axel all of a sudden. Was he boring her or was it something else he didn't quite understand? Closing his eyes he attempted to sense his friend. "Oh he is here and up there actually," he looked up seeing feet dangling overhead. "Yo Axel come down here!" He yelled up to him.

 

Xion wavered, putting a hand on Demyx's shoulder to steady herself. "What do you want most?" she asked suddenly, her voice very quiet. "What is the one thing worth dying for?"

 

As Demyx waited for Axel to respond he answered Xion's question. "I don't know. My heart I guess since it is all that I know. I would like to have a sence of satisfaction when I play my sitar for it brings me a sense of peace, but I can never get that right note. Overall freedom to do as I wish and not be a slave would be nice," he shurgged.

 

She looked up, curiosity in her eyes. "Why aren't you free?" she whispered, still leaning on him. Why did she always have to be the weak one, not fit for fighting? Why coudlnt' she save someone?

 

Axel was drawn out of his gaze as he heard the voice of Demyx which seem to be unsettling to him. He wondered how the Melodious Noturne had found him, but instead of coming up with a theory he just simply just jumped down. Landing gracefully he approached both Demyx and Xion. "You guys couldn't possibly miss me. I was only away to leave you two to speak among yourselves."

 

Xion rolled her eyes. "Ah, the chivalrousness of men." she muttered, then smiled. "It's fine. You're our friend too, right?" she asked, not quite sure suddenly. She considered them both her best friends, besides Roxas, but did they feel the same?

 

"Ruled under Xemnas's control," he answered back softly just as Axel had jumped in front of him. "Axel how long were you up there for and of course we missed you. Geez you would think I would forget about you or something?" Demyx nudged Axel's shoulder playfully.

 

Axel scratched his head as he tried to come with something else to say and then smirked at them. "Yes, it happens at times. I do get left out of things." He punched Demyx in the shoulder playfully in return. "Yes, we are all friends, he replied to Xion though he was curious on why she would bring it up like if she was unsure.

 

Demyx leaned his head on Axel's shoulder and began to rub him like a cat. Nobodies were not human after all, though they the organization members retained their human form, their instincts were different and they couldn't feel what it felt like to have emotions so many things were done to act like they did. Rubbing in Demyx's case was a way of showing affection as he remembered animals doing in all the time when he was human and he wanted to try and see what kind of reaction he would get from it.

 

Xion giggled at Demyx, then rubbed her arms, considering Axel's answer. The whole friendship thing just confused her. She wanted to be with them always and forever, but what was so special about her that they wanted to stay with her? Why would she, of any body, hold their attention?

 

Demyx assumed Axel didn't mind the rubbing of his shoulder so he kept it up and smiled when he heard Xion giggling. It was nice to hear her laugh for she deserved to experience some happiness.

 

Axel didn't seem to mind the nuzzling that Demyx was doing and just let him do it. "So now that we have found each other, what do you guys want to do now?" He asked laughing a small bit.

 

She giggled again, covering her mouth with her hand, then thought. "Sea salt ice cream?" she suggested, hugging herself. "I mean, if you guys don't want to do anything..."

 

Xemnas appeared in front of the young nobodies. He walked up to them. "We have a problem."

Sora ran toward Merlin's but was confronted with unbirths. "What are these?"
