Then you've never been to my school. All the Latin tests are open book! Plus the Latin teacher is a powerlifter! Except he tore a ligament one day during a pep rally. And my English teacher is on probation for overuse of paper. My school's trying to go paperless.

 

Wow, her parents don't mind but yours do? What's their reasoning? Because I could understand it if Amber's parents decided against it, but what is your parents' reasoning? Do they still think Amber is a perverted sixty-year-old trying to reel you in to murder and rape you (In that order)? Because 16 is a tad too old to be targeted by pedophiles and if someone can be bothered to hook a teenager, they probably would go for a girl.

Perhaps if Amber voice chatted (are you also using video?) to them, it might resolve their decision.

Fine. From now on, I shall call you Ambra Slovicka (Latin for Amber Slovick), the Goddess of Cookies. And I shall be Ander Talericus (Latin for my real name) the God of Pie and Apple Crisp.

 

Actually it's the other way around. They've been watching too many reality stings where the cops set up internet predators to get caught and humiliated on TV. They think that no one you meet on the internet can be trusted and might think that this "friend relationship" could be an elaborate set-up by the cops. :sideways:

So to be honest, I've carefully concealed details from them (like name and how we actually met) and said that she's really 17 going on 18. I also avoid showing anyone her picture as well just in case.

Hopefully, we can last long enough for her to become legal and such. :)
