ok so if any of you who are reading this read manga? i do but the thing is that i first read the manga and then watch the anime (if it has an anime). but the thing is i hate how when your all down reading the manga and you find out that the anime only has like a quarter of the chapters into episodes. i think its like a letdown to me i mean i read all of fruit basket which has around 100 chapters but only has 26 episodes in the anime. it just kinda saddens me. so my question here is have you ever read an manga that got turned into an anime and did not turn alot of the chapters into episodes? just something that i thought of when i was coming home from the mall.

I mostly just watch, not read. But I should point out that there usually are multiple chapters in each episode. For the fruit basket example they would need to be averaging 4 chapters an episode. Considering that they are always going to cut some stuff that is still in the realm of possibility. Though a good conversion would be closer to 2 or 3 chapters per episode (depending on the manga)

If you watched the anime alone, like I do, you would never know if any chapters were skipped.

The first Naruto. You know how the manga jumped to shippudden? Well the whole star village arc was filler for the anime.

Valid point. My whole thing on chapters per episode gets thrown off since so many animes throw in stuff that wasn't in the mangas as filler. So they remove some content from the mangas and then make up some of their own... sounds like an even trade to me. lol

When I deal with Manga or Anime. Whatever I read or watch first I stick with. Since I watched Fullmetal Alchemist first as a Anime and I won't even try to read the manga on the other hand if I discover something on a manga first I will stick to the manga. For example I read the Special A and Fruits Basket manga first but I never attempted to watch the entire series of their Animes because it would challenge my view on both of them. I experienced that "Let down" when I watched Spiral and then I read the manga which was so cheaply drawn and less dramatic then the show that I could die.

I normally watch the anime and then read the manga but I find fillers a lot more annoying. Especially if they were to miss out a lot of key information. For example Bleach is infected with fillers. I can understand that they need them but it's just annoying if the filler is extremely boring.

I am getting more and more disappointed by the way Tegami Bachi is treated. The manga has a great reach story and each chapter is long enough to fill a full episode and maybe half of the next one. That said, for some reason certain characters follow different paths in the anime for no obvious reason, scenes from later chapters appeared in the earlier episodes, creating a chaos since things that were supposed to happen won't happen because they already have, or happen in a different way. The first season was brilliant, it followed the story and all of the fillers were really good and enriched somewhat the story and the character whereas in the second season, this far at least, there are no fillers but everything is pretty messed up.

When it comes to fillers, i usually don't mind them as long as they have something to offer. D.gray - Man had very good filler episodes, although to be honest, the Lullubel arc was really annoying.
