Ending aids... Invest in research and experimentation. http://ww.one.org/ is about financial aid (from a cursory glance). It does not work. Making countries dependent on foreign money is bad because it causes governments to market to other countries and neglect the industry of their own nation. We saw how that went in Zimbabwe. Once the educational center of South Africa, people now have to pan for gold just to get bread due to malinvestment by the government. The people are starving because of the foreign aid. Or, last I heard. Not sure how Zimbabwe is doing this year. Not to mention... Reform is impossible and worthless. I don't know why people bother with petitions. With funds as low as they are, the government will only do that which is profitable to them.
Do you really think that the US is going to do this even if they get a majority of the citizens to sign? They have a war with Iran to monger and then fight, not to mention that they are already on the road to bankruptcy. Please don't get on me for being a realist when you asked for opinions.
