He hasn't bloody done anything. What's he done to deserve a Nobel Peace Prize? You have to earn it, not just be elected as president of the United States. I bet so many of the 200 people nominated for the Peace Prize would be more deserving than a president who hasn't done squat.

But it's a Norwegian Commitee. D: They should be smart and know who to give it to...right?

Besides, it's not like that's the only Nobel prize out there. Anyways...Obama has been a bit...disappointing. >>; I've really got no other comment about this.

It's seemed to have lost all credibility in my opinion.

Obama is worse than Bush at this piont, imo.

I mean Obama is cool in terms of personality but he just doesn't do anything to help anyone, and just spends endless money.

That's quite the accusation. Bush led our nation into war and, at the end of his administration, left our economy in ruin. Obama has to pick up the pieces. He's been working on health care and meeting with leaders of other nations purely for peace meetings, and he's trying to get our troops out of Iraq (which takes time and can't be done all at once). He's also encouraged people to return to their college educations if they never finished them and is providing financial aid in the area. You guys, he's been in office for nine months. Cleaning the mess takes time.

Time to get back on topic I say. Obama is clearly not deserving of the award.

    I'm an Obama fan.
    I like the guy.
I think he should have won the election.

    That said
Even I don't believe he deserved the award.

I think your username just about describes what my reaction was.

He really hasn't done anything - they even say "efforts", not "success in doing so". While I agree that picking up the pieces after Bush would be difficult, and I do like the guy, so far Obama isn't proving to be any better. Who the hell else was up for the prize? Because if he had any competition at all I'm starting a riot.

Guys. Seriously. Have you guys been watching the news? (Since they've been stalking Obama we should all know this)

He's been to a lot of countries trying to get rid of nuclear weapons. He also made the United Nations relevant again. In which case, he's really trying to bring the world together. Although it's only been about 10 months, Obama has been in more places than Bush has been in in 8 years.

I don't know why everyone is so disappointed. The economy takes time okay? 8 years of damage will take at least 16 years to fix. Not to mention the media is paying more attention to Obama swatting away flies than what he's doing to help the country.

Cut the guy some slack. Remember that we aren't hearing what's been discussed in the Oval office, on the news. Just speculations of people who are getting payed to do nothing but dump on t people's decisions that aren't the ones they want to hear.

I personally can't see the world's powers ever getting rid of their nukes, no matter who asks, or how politely they do it, especially not with nutbags like north Korea and Iran building their own, and threatening to actually use them. This whole thing is, IMO, no more than a publicity stunt. Obama has done virtually nothing to help, and he gets an award for it. Way to go. -.-

He has promised alot, but done nothing. I really don't think that he deserved that price.

Hopefully, some day, he will <__<

I would agree with this. No country will get rid of their nukes, it is insurance against other countries nukes, and even if they SAID they got rid of them I wouldn't believe them.

I'm not American so I can't really comment on how he treats his people, but I personally don't think he deserved this award. Not at all.

Mutually assured destruction. But what happens if both sides decide to chop their nuke supply in half? They still have their mutually assured destruction, but with less money put towards it.

Now I haven't been following the news. How successful has he been at this?

Well, in the newspaper today, I saw the pakistan president (Or Iraq President, or Israel, one of those) shaking hands with Bush (I think).

He has not made the UN relevant. And no he hasn't been to a lot of countries trying to get rid of the nuclear weapons. Your points are lacking any reliable source therefore are open to bias and false statements. The Nobel Peace Prize has nothing to do with what someone does in an economy. And again you come up with these figures from no reliable source that are clearly false.

You guys should know that Nobel Peace prize is for people who have good intentions and plans for peace.

2004's winner, Wangari Muta Maathai, didn't do anything. And yet she still got it. Why? Because she had good intentions. There are others too.

But to all that are about to say "But Obama's a fraud!' I'm not defending him, I haven't actually seen him do anything yet too.
