I've only just started it myself, I like it but I still prefer FFIX. FFVII does have a good plot and some nice characters but I guess it's the progression and side-games that can be annoying, I hate that motorway thing.

Never played it, looks interesting but the plot, some of the cutscenes i've seen and Yuna put me off. Might be your cup of tea though, I hear it's very flashy and has a decent sound track.

Though, I do have FFX-2 and after clearing the game once it becomes a bore, plus it is very short and has only three playable characters. I still don't get why they made FFX-2 myself.

Well, we'll all have to wait and see how FFXIII is, though it'll probably be worth it just for the in-game movies alone... *graphicsdrool*

I would say XII, even if it's sort of an odd one out in terms of plot and battle system. I found the new way reeeaally fun, though, gambits ftw. It's a really intriguing storyline and there are tons of (optional, of course) sidequests and extra missions that can keep you at the game for over a hundred hours.

Really though, any Final Fantasy you pick, you'll probably love.

ITT: People who haven't played the classic FFs.

I'd suggest you play FFVI and FFIV. If you're a graphic whore, try the DS version of Final Fantasy IV. It's fantastic. And try out the DS version of FFIII.
FFVI is my all time favorite, no matter how many times I play it. You should definitely try that out if you're into classic FFs.

But if you ignore all these, at least try out FFIX. It's both an underrated Final Fantasy and game.

I've never played FFVI due to the fact I lack the console for it and I don't think there’s a remake so how could my answer be a game I’ve never played?
That also reminds me I need to get FFI on PSP and finish FFII, III and IV on the many things I’m playing them on.
But I would still have to say FFIX is the closest thing to the classic FF's your going to get from the PS era due to it implying the characters have job classes.

I've played VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2 and XII. Out of all of them, I think I liked X the most.

My favorite of the games I have are X and XII. Both have a good story line and deep plots.
