Sachi leaned against the wall outside of the school grounds by Kori. She was waiting for that one girl to show up. "So... you said she has spiritual powers almost to the point of awakening?"

 

"Yes." he said. "I'm not sure when though. Could be days or even weeks, or even mere hours."

 

Kaori left her last class and headed to the gate that Kori told her to go.As she left the school building,she spotted Kori and the girl.She walked over to them. "So....are you guys going to tell me what I want to know?" she asked.

 

Sachi looked at the girl. Then back at Kori. He was the one to explain it all since he felt like they needed to.

 

"Yes." he said. "Ask away."

 

"Okay,well.....what was that thing I saw you guys fighting earlier?" Kaori asked.

 

"It was what is known as a hollow. They are spirits that have become corrupted and transformed into monters. Only those who possess great spiritual energy are able to see them." he said.

 

Sachi looked at the girl. "And you, apparently, are one of the lucky ones that can."

 

"Spiritual.....energy?So you're saying that I have high spiritual energy." Kaori said. "But wait I remember I saw you two wearing something completely different.You were wearing black kimonos and carrying a sword.Why are you at my school and wearing something completely different?"

 

Sachi looked down a little. "We are called Soul Reapers, or Death Gods... Our duty is to make sure those spirits who are wandering around in this world make it to the Soul Society, or what you guys call it, heaven." She flexed her arm. "How we look different is another explanation. Unless... you have time to listen."

 

"I have more than enough time." Kaori said wanting to hear everything.

 

"It is because these bodies are fake. They are called Gigai's." he said, pulling out a pill and swallowing it. He seperated from his Gigai and stood before her. "What we really are is Soul Reapers. We help lost souls travel to the world of the dead. We also fight hollows and protect the souls from them."

 

"But what do I have to do with this?" Kaori asked. "Why am I a 'lucky one'?"

 

"I don't know why or how it happens, but some humans are born with great spiritual power. Eventually, it awakens and they get special powers. The hollow also come after these people. In the past these special humans fought agaist hollows with the Soul Reapers." he tried to explain.

 

Sachi looked up at the girl. "Fate is funny like that. You're one of the special ones... sometimes we don't know why some humans suddenly can see us and know we're here. But..." she looked her up and down. "I can already see you have great potential."

 

"But how do these powers awaken?" Kaori asked.

 

"I'm not sure." he said. "But I know yours will awaken soon. That's why I decided to let you in on our secret."

 

"So I'm guessing it's going to appear whenever it's needed." Kaori said.

 

"Possibly." he said. "To be honest, this is our first time in this world."
