"she won't listen to you. She is blinded by anger. That anger is making her lose her concentration and make the wrong moves" Drake said to Clara as he watched and then looked over at Ben and Jane I wonder how they can sleep threw all this Drake thought to himself

 

Matt let out a sigh. "Great. Finally someone around here who I can fully respect, and the guy just makes me feel guilty." Matt said in a dissapointed tone. He felt almost guilty that he had been fooling around with this lower being, or, so he would describe her. It was more so a brief moment of pity, though his feelings still remained the same for most humans.
"Fine, I give." he said, and as suddenly as he began, he had ceased. He raised both hands, showing his "surrender". "Now cease your idiocy. Your foots damaged anyways." he said to her, showing what was the only real kind of 'kindness' he could for now.

 

Jane was awake, she just had her eyes closed, it woudn't make a difference if they were open anyway. Listening to what was going on she didn't feel the need to wake Ben who was pretty much passed out from the long day, they didn't seem to be really hurting each other.

"No! I don't want your pity," Anna said raising her sword, "Fight me now!"

Clara just stood there watching, Drake was right, she wouldn't listen, and she knew that no matter what she did Anna wasn't going to stop, she was pretty strong willed.

 

"I'm not going to fight someone who barely can fight as is. Just go rest." Matt said, in a slightly annoyed voice. "I'm going to get some sleep. I advise you do the same." Matt said, turning his back to Anna, and he began to walk in the opposite direction, leaving himself perfectly vulnerable infront of her, showing that he did not see her as any threat at all.

Annabel was disgusted and the look on her face showed it very well. "Don't you dare turn your back on me you derma." She spat, she wanted to get him into the fighting mood again, she wasn't going to accept his pity, she didn't need it.

 

Drake was a bit surprised when he heard her say that and it seemed as if it almost even hurt him. It could be shown on his face for a second but he quickly retained his calm self

bic: For a moment, Matt just stood there. "Derma......your right.....tgh. I get it." He said, as he started to chuckle. "OH, oh yes. It ALL makes sense." He said, as his chuckle turned to laughter. "It all makes sense. I suppose since you're not one, that just makes you the PERFECT person, doesn't it." He said, his laughter increasing. "YOU expect me to fight you when you look even more pathetic then before? We need to refer to name calling now?" he said, turning his head back and looking at her, a wide grin on his face.
"I will not fight you. Because in the end, you being alive, is most likely worse for you then being dead." He said, facing back in the direction he was walking, and he then began to walk away again.

 

Drake continued to watch with his arms crossed. He seemed to be a bit angry not because of what Matt said but at Annabel "this is why most humans are despicable. They think they are superior beings while we Derma are some kind of freaks of nature. I learned that the hard way" Drake said quietly to Clara and sighed as he calmed down "maybe.....we are freaks of nature though" Drake said

 

"That's quite enough." Ben said from under the tree. Both him and Jane were standing up and watching Annabel and Matt. "Annabel, I don't want any trouble, do you understand?" He asked in a firm, almost fatherly tone.

"Yes sir, I understand." She muttered, definitely defeated.

Clara turned to him quickly, her face showed suprise and sympathy. "No you're not a freak of nature, none of you are. And I don't think that everyone thinks that..... I don't."

 

Drake looked down at her and put on a small smile. "heh yeah your right. You've shown me that not all humans are not so bad. Hanging around with you has really changed me" Drake said

 

Matt spit on the ground. "Not freaks of nature?" he asked, amused.
"Hey to burst your bubble kitties, but thats exactly what we are. Freaks of nature. Thing is we all are. Derma's have the strength to destroy. Humans have the urge to. Fits hand in hand. Its why I'm above all you filth." he said in an unamused tone.
He then turned to Ben. "You're lucky she's proven entertaining, or else you'd be dead by now." he told him as he walked over to a tree. It didn't take much for him to climb the tree and find a nice branch to lay back on where he knew if he balanced himself correctly, he wouldn't fall while laying down. "Night meatsacks." he said, dosing back off to sleep before anyone could talk to him.

 

"Did you just threaten the Captain?"

You could see the anger in his face, though he tried to cover it. "Leave it Anna! Didn't I just say I don't want any trouble?"

Even Jane was hot on her toes, what Matt had said meant that he could snap and attack Ben at any time. It was only Anna who was "keeping him alive" though she would kill him way before he could even get close to Ben.

Drake looked at them and simply closed his eyes "well it looks like they get angered pretty easily" Drake said and sighed as he looked over at Clara "well since all the trouble is over you should go to sleep now" Drake said to Clara as he sat down and leaned against a tree

 

"Oh.. um.. yeah.... thanks, you should too, you must be tired after training."

 

Drake nodded as he sat there and put his sword beside him and closed his eyes "thanks for everything" Drake muttered quietly as he sat there with his eyes closed fast asleep

 

"No problem." Clara whispered as she too fell asleep.

Anna, Ben and Jane all slowly fell asleep.

 

Drake slept until the sun started to rise up. He slowly awoke and got up while he attacked his sword onto his back. Drake then put his hands in his pockets and headed to the same area he was training at before so he could train while everybody else was asleep

 

Jane woke shortly after Drake did. She never really "slept" it was always an incredibly light sleep so that if anything happened in the middle of the night she could protect Ben. She sat with her back against the tree with her eyes closed listening to Benjamin's soft breath as he slept peacefully. It comforted her that he could now sleep tranquilly with her nearby. When they had first met he slept a lot like she did now, never really getting to dream or really fall asleep, he was always alert. Even after they signed the contract he didn't fully trust her ability to be vigilant but now he slept deeply and without reservation. Jane could easily hear everyone elses breath except Drake's who she had also heard left.

 

With one last swing Drake finished his training as sighed as he finished his morning training. He put his sword on his back and headed back to the others. He looked over at everybody who was still asleep and then looked over at Jane who was awake. Drake stood there as he leaned against a tree
