Jane heard Drake come back, and lean against a tree. "I'd like to thank you for being so peaceful about the situation. My master is really a good person, I hope that you do not look down on him." She said in a very soft almost whisper, she did not look at Drake when she talked to him, she just stared far off into the woods ahead of her.

 

Drake closed his eyes and crossed his arms "you don't have to thank me. Fighting you wouldn't have gained me anything. Besides I told myself I would watch over that girl over there" Drake said calmly as he pointed at Clara and crossed his arms again "even if fighting in some stupid war will protect her then so be it. It doesn't matter to me. Fighting is basically all I do" Drake said

 

Jane's eyes started to wonder as if she was thinking. Then she slowly pushed herself up, as if it took a lot of energy to do so. Even standing she was short she wouldn't have even made it to Drake or Benjamin's shoulders. "May I ask you a question?" Her eyes settled straight in front of her as usual. "Why do you protect that girl?"

 

Drake suddenly opened his eyes and looked over at Jane and then sighed "Back then I used to be a cold blooded assassin. I always thought my emotions only brought pain and that humans were cruel beings that only live to kill. That girl showed me I was wrong and showed me kindness when I needed it. She is the kindest human I have ever met and because of that I feel she should suffer any pain" Drake said and sighed once more "I guess I became soft" Drake said

 

She closed her eyes with a small grin on her face. "She is a kind girl. And lucky to have a powerful Derma to protect her, even when you haven't signed a contract.....that, is unusual....."

Suddenly Clara stirred in her sleep and started to wake up.

Jane's eyes flickered over to Clara for milisecond before once again resting in front of her. "Not many derma's get attached before a contract is signed....."

 

"if she wants me to sign a contract with her then I will. Its her choice" Drake quietly said as he looked over at Clara also

 

Clara slowly started to open her eyes. The sun was bright, she wondered what time it was. "Ugh....uhh.... oh!" She said as she noticed Jane and Drake talking. "Good morning guys." She said with a friendly smile as she rubbed her eyes.

"That's how it goes...." Jane mumbled, as she turned back towards Ben who was also waking, completely ignoring Clara.

 

"Well it looks like you got a good amount of rest" Drake said to Clara as he stood there with his arms crossed leaning against the tree

 

Matt slowly began to open his eyes to the sound of people talking. He was hanging in a tree. He didn't realise it though, until...
"AHHH!!!" he yelled, falling out of the tree and hitting the ground with a loud thud. Not the best alarm clock, but at least he got the job done.

"Mmmhmm....How about you? Did you sleep well?" Clara asked slowly standing up, though she was a little wobbly, her legs were still sore from riding all day yesterday.

Ben was half awake when Matt fell out of the tree. That woke him right up. Yanking out his sword that lay next to him on the ground he shot up onto his feet, still a little asleep. "What time is it?" He asked in a groggy yet alarmed voice, as if he was late for something. His sword was up close to his face in a fighting position.

"Our pursuers are about four hours ahead of us. I heard them go by last night." Jane said softly, as she walked up to Ben and gently laid her hand on the blade of his sword and lowered is slowly. "They should be far enough ahead of us for us to continue on whenever you like."

Annabel also shot awake when Matt fell out of the tree, but unlike Ben she wasn't groggy. "AH HA!!!" She chuckled loudly at the sight of Matt.

 

"yeah I had my fair share of rest" Drake said and suddenly turned his attention over to the sound of Matt falling off the tree "I guess thats what he gets for sleeping in a tree" Drake said quietly

 

Demetrio walked over to everyone with a little bit of blood dripping from his mouth "morning everyone"

 

Drake looked over at Demetrio and looked at the blood dripping from his mouth I wonder who's blood that is...most likely an animal's...its a pretty low chance its a human's blood since we are in the middle of a forest. If it is a human's then its probably the blood of a pursuer or a traveler...Since there is no wound its most likely not his own blood Drake thought to himself and sighed as he lost interest in the situation

 

Demetrio touched his own mouth "oh sorry everyone i kinda caught a few fish earlier anyone want some?" he wiped the blood from his mouth.

 

"Ooo. What do you know. It laughs to. And here I thought all it could do was bitch all the time." Matt said, trying to get back at Anna and to get her to stop laughing.
"Well then, now that we've all heard something that proves that there are worse noises then a hyena's cackle, I'ma go get me somethen to eat. Seeya meatsacks." Matt said, standing back up. He began moving in the direction that he saw Demetrio come from.

 

Drake watched Matt walk away and then sighed as he closed his eyes and put his hands in his pockets but suddenly noticed something was in his pocket. Drake pulled out the object and looked down at it noticing it was a small loaf of bread wrapped around in a cloth this is that same bread Clara gave when we first met. I forgot I had it Drake thought to himself and looked over at Clara "here you must be hungry" Drake said handing her the bread

 

Anna sneered at Matt. "Immature little...." She muttered as she also went off, in the opposite direction of Matt to look for food.

Clara looked over at Drake. "Oh...um a little I guess.... but you should eat first, you were training all last night, you must be way hungrier than I am."

 

"nah Im not hungry. We have a long ride so you should eat as much as you can" Drake said calmly

 

Matt came back after awhile of grabbing whatever fish he could find. He had his shirt off, using it to carry the fish in it, having at least 7 caught. "Need a fire. Someone make it." He said, with the a tone that made it sound as if everyone would do exactly as he said.
