"Sorry's....not gonna cut it huh?"


"she-wolves are the worst for moodswings Riv..."Mickey said,before smiling at Lake"except you."

 

Lake giggled slightly and poked Mickey playfully. "Well if you're speaking from experience I'm one of the only she-wolves you know, so I can't be the exception. Anyway, there any chance there's something for Hermia to borrow as well? It seems kinda rude leaving her out of the doorstep looking like a kicked puppy."

 

"Hmmm....hang on..."she turn and then came back,holding a new set of clothes"here you go"

 

Hermia caught the clothes in her mouth, the essence of vampire burning a little. She quickly disappeared to god knows where and came back fully clothed. Or at least on top she was fully clothed. Her wavy hair was a tangled mess and there were cuts on her cheeks and blisters on her hands and feet. She looked tired and like she hadn't eaten or drank for days. Croakily she spoke to them in a sweet yet sharp voice.
"Thank you."

 

"Do you need something to drink and eat?"Maddie asked

 

She shrugged slightly before her legs gave way and she fell down onto her knees. Exhustion finally taking a grip of her as her body size had dropped.

"Someone was pushing themselves too hard..." Lake mumbled to herself.

 

River went over and helped her up

 

Hermia was limply pulled to her feet by the boy, she could barely take her own weight.

"Maybe we should take her home with us, it might be better for her to be away from vampires and things. Sorry again guys."

 

"we know....we stink"Maddie said sighing jokingly

He wrapped a arm around her waist to keep her up

 

"Sorry again, and congratulations Esmya. As many times as I've said that now." She giggled slightly. "Ocean, can you go fetch your sister again?"

Ocean nodded and wanders back upstairs. "Elly? Jake?"

Hermia nearly stumbled over again, so she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck to keep from falling over. She was still panting heavily and she was all too concious of the fact she was standing in a room of strangers wearing no more than a top and a rather short skirt.

 

"I'll uh....I'll take her to the car."he said a faint flush on his cheeks,he was used to girls....and used to be close.....but this close was a different matter

"Yes?"Elena said

 

"Okay." Lake nodded.

"We're going now, one of River's friends just appeared and she's not doing so well. You can go downstairs again now as well Jacob."

Hermia continued to hold onto him as tightly as possible, which wasn't very tight at all.

 

"Okies "she smiled


He helped her round to the car and put her in the back seat

 

"Come on kiddo." Ocean smiled, holding out her hand for the little one to take.

As she was placed into the car Hermia quickly crossed her legs to avoid any major embarrassment.

 

she smiled and grabbed Ocean's hand


He slid in beside her,careful not to touch her again

 

Ocean patted her little sister's head and lead her downstairs again to where her parents were waiting for the two of them. Luckily the girl didn't seem to of noticed the chaos that had been taking place downstairs whilst she and her cousin were squirrelled away upstairs.

Hermia dropped her head backwards onto the head rest and closed her eyes. Her chest heaving up and down as she tried to consume enough oxygen to fuel her body.

 

"You ok?"he asked

"Mummy...what happened to your other prett dress?"

"T-Tired..." She stammered out between deep, rasping breaths. "I-I've be-been af-after him fo-for two da-days..." She'd been watching him since she first got wind of him up north almost two months ago, but the last chase had been going on for only a couple of days at a rough guess. As far as she knew it'd been much longer, she hadn't been paying too much attention to the time, just keeping him away from people.

"Mummy had a bit of an accident, so she's borrowing some of Aunty Maddie's clothes. Right Ocean?" Lake smiled kindly.

"Yep, because Aunt Maddie's nice like that. And Mum is really clumbsy." She giggled, trying to back her mother up and stop the girl from catching on.

"Oh,right"he said "how long have you known what he was?"

 

"Good." Lake giggled. "Now, we need to go. One of River's friends is a bit poorly so they're coming to stay with us for a while."

"Tw-Two months... May--" She winced and her face contorted in pain before she relaxed again. "Maybe two and a half..." Hermia mumbled, worried at what reaction this would bring. Would he be mad? Sad? What?
