D.N.Angel: The return of Dark and Krad.

kairi heard sota yel.
"SOTA COME BACK TO THE HOSPITAL I HAVE TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING!" yelled kairi.

 

Sota jumped in surprise. He turned around at the source of the voice: Back at the hospital. Sota nodded, walked two steps forward, then stopped. He looked straight up into the sky, with the rain pouring, an annoyed look on his face.

You're enjoying this, aren't you? he thought.

 

kairi sat in the hospital waiting.

 

Sota stepped inside the hospital, shook the water off him to dry off, and used the directory to track down Kairi and Kira. After five minutes, he managed to get to them.

"There you are! Why did you run off, Kairi?"

 

Kairi looked at sota and handed him the book.

 

Sota looked at the book, "What's this?"

 

kairi said"...My childhood...do you notice how kira wasn't there...and ...my mom...is only there in pictures...that were tooken years ago?"

 

Sota looked at them, "...Sort of. They're a little blurry for me to tell. What are you getting at, Kairi?"

 

"I'm trying to tell you...When I was younger kira ran away and left me with a loving mom and an abusive dad...My famliy finally became normal....and then my mom died thrree years ago....she left me with my abusive dad....Thats why I have brusies on my face and arms!" said Kairi fighting back tears and revealing her badly brusied arms.

 

Sota recoiled a little, but then settled back down. That explained why she was so...distant, in class.

He took one of her arms, and examined the bruises, "...this has been going on for awhile. How many years?"

 

"It's been going on for three years...once my mom died...he got drunk more often...once he got drunk or angry he would hit me...." said kairi avoiding sotas eyes.

 

"We need to get you to see a doctor about those. If it's been going on for that long, you might be suffering from some internal bleeding," Sota didn't look up at her eyes, "It's...how my dad died."

 

kairi looked away and said "I know how you feel....My mom died that way....when I saw the doctor yesturday he said I don't have enternal bleeding...He said come back every week to get checked."

 

There was an awkward silence between the two of them. Finally, Sota spoke up again, "Why are you the one with the bruises and not your brother?"

 

"My brother....He ran away...so he didn't get brusied...My dad killed my mom...he abusied her too...The night she died...she died saveing me from my dad." said Kairi she looked at sota she was trying to fight back tears...she ended up letting the tears come out..

 

Sota saw the tears and closed his eyes. He moved closer to Kairi and hugged her.

"I'm sorry," he said, "I wish I could say I knew what that was like..." He laughed, while trying to suppress his sadness, "I don't even know what it's like to have a mom...or a dad, for that matter. They both died just shortly after my fourth birthday."

 

"If I may ask how did your mom die?" said kairi tring once agian to hold back tears.

 

"Ah," Sota sniffed, and wiped his eyes quickly, "I'm...not sure, really. I just know my Dad telling me the day before I turned four. The day after...he got hit by a car." Sota looked out the window, "He passed two days after."

 

"Oh...I'm sorry to hear that...that time must have been hard..." said kairi.

 

"Sort of,"

Sota stood up and walked towards the window. He watched the black-grey sky as the rain poured down.

"I don't remember what my parents look like. Not long after my dad died, there was a fire in the house we lived in. It destroyed everything, including any pictures we had of each other," He turned around, a weak smile on his face, and he shrugged, "I'm now in an appartment that should be condemned, working various odd jobs and trying to get through High School."
